Attending Parties In Nigeria Paid Me More Than Acting In Ghana – Yvonne Nelson by 9jaBlogger: 8:33am On Jun 24, 2023
Trending Ghanaian movie star Yvonne Nelson has shared stunning details on some of her experiences in Nigeria.

Nelson, in her much-talked about book, revealed attending events like birthday parties and others were sometimes more profitable to her than featuring in Ghanaian movies.

The renowned actress claimed the ‘Giant of Africa’ had people who hosted parties and were willing to part with huge sums to pay specific personalities just to be in an attendance.

According to her, the presence of these rented guests was presumably their way of enhancing their status or even show their class.

“There were people who held parties and were prepared to pay you to attend just to enhance their status or show their class.

“The array of celebrities that attended someone’s party showed who they were.

“And being present at someone’s birthday or some other celebratory event sometimes paid me more than acting in a movie in Ghana,” she wrote.

That's why B list celebrities from Hollywood and elsewhere come to Nigeria for easy money .
While Nigerian people think these people are coming here because of love and affection and the country is giant in Africa.
Reality is the money spent on these so called celebrities are people money stolen by corrupt politician, business men and employees of giant among corrupt nations .

Only few celebrity gatherings are company promotion and company development related.
Majority of these events are clout chasing and after party sevices ,if u know u know wink

You don't have to dictate how one spends his money.
also, one doesn't have to be connected to a politician to spend like one.

BAT, man with balls of steel. He said in Paris if you protest against subsidy removal, he will protest in support because they are benefiting from the fraud cheesy

Free government money choke for the political class, BAT will give them a good run. See the way GEJ was begging Nigerians in 2012 and even chickened out. BAT removed and nobody coughed shocked

Is it only subsidy that sustains it or corruption? Corruption is tge main problem. All these subsidy, state capture (e.g Alphabeta) are all subsets of corruption. Build strong institutions to reduce corruption am sure your emilokan can never try that.

I agree. This is exactly what SDP's Presidential candidates Adebayo said, eliminate the corruption on Subsidy not the Subsidy itself but no one cared, that people tilted towards candidates who campaigned on total removal of Subsidy meant majority of the electorate wanted Subsidy gone & hence we must tow that Subsidy removal paths and make it efficient or go back to status quo. Imo, i support his stance but here we are.

This one hasn't told us what she always does after the party. When they pay Wiskid, Burna Boy, Davido, PSquare etc to attend an event are they not paid for rendering a service? When u follow pot bellied Nigerian sugar daddy politicians to events nd parties u come out to lie to the public.

This is so True. Nigerians have a craze for ostentatious living and would throw huge sums around just for frivolities. These so-called rich men cannot even help the needy but waste money on unnecessary Parties especially on weekends

Even if petrol subsidy was removed, education shouldn't be removed. Education and health are two important sectors we should keep Subsidy. Then use the savings from Subsidy payments for the new petrol substitute everyone says is cheaper CNG or so. Help people convert their cars to run on Cng.

I'm just emphatic to the plight of the masses, the people that are struggling. These old men won't let young people come on board to bring in new ideas. The only young people allowed are their family that have been raised to be as selfish as their parents.

Do not be deviled by slave morality, the private sector exists for a reason. Champion a course if you can afford too.
