Okocha peaked at a time there were exceptionally great players who can not be ignored and they were winning trophies too and he was not winning anything big at his club. His inability to get a good scout to make him play for great clubs like Madrid, Barca or Milan really diminished his prospect of maybe winning a Ballon D'Or.
