It will cos keeping money with politicians is just like keeping yam with goat but the looting won't be as before.

Looting will be worse than before. Tinubu’s govt will be the most corrupt government because he has a lot of mouth to feed and he can’t fail his loyalists who are all criminals.

Prices of Petrol won't be fluctuating this much when the Dangote Refinery start operation
Oil marketers have debunked this claim of Dangote refinery will bring down fuel price. Dangote is a business man and he does not have monopoly on fuel price.

Very soon Nigerians will not be able to afford fuel despite the fact that they are an oil producing country. Economics turned upside down. How do you force your citizens to buy fuel at the rate wealthy Nations can afford to pay for it despite the fact that production cost is only $8 .it's sad

ThankUUJesus:
what do you expect

Reflecting back to 2006, the EFCC Chairman Nuhu Ribadu once highlighted in the Senate the notorious governors involved in stealing, including Orji Kalu from Abia State, Ahmed Bola Tinubu from Lagos State, Ahmed Sani Yerima from Zamfara State, George Akume from Benue State, and Abudulahi Adamu from Nassarawa State.

Fast forward to 2023, things have taken a sharp turn. Orji Kalu is now a Senator, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the President, Ahmed Sani Yerima is a Senator, George Akume is a Senator and holds the SGF position appointed by Tinubu, and Abdullah Adamu is now the APC Chairman. Strangely enough, Nuhu Ribadu, who failed to prosecute Tinubu, has been appointed by Tinubu himself as Special Assistant on Security. To add to the irony, the Senate is now headed by Senator Akpabio who is still under prosecution for massive corruption charges. Suffice it to say that Nigeria is being held hostage by corruption and its aftermath.

In short, no way forward. Let's just wait till the call of Almighty, then we'll leave one after the other.

Dollar floating is the mistake FG made, this policy is worsening the situation coupled with subsidies removal in fuel, electricity etc.

Naira will keep depreciating because of scarcity of dollars in the bank and customer will continue to patronize black market.

Aboki FX will capitalize on this to double their price against bank rate. You can not float dollar we don’t produce.

Tinubu kicks the ground running without leveling the ground now the ground is running through us.

So, Nigeria should keep paying subsidy from almost non existent fund. Nigeria case will be worse than that of Sri Lanka if the president did not quickly make a detour.

Actually, prices would fluctuate...

A key thing in price fluctuations is the cost of crude oil. Once crude rises and falls, the price of petrol rises and falls with it. Then transport costs, which can be affected by many things (as seen last year where the weather forced the government to raise fuel prices whether they liked it or not because costs went up too too much). And things like taxes at local and federal level.

There is nothing like cheap fuel. Fuel is a very expensive thing to make.

Being an oil producing country does not mean that fuel would become 'affordbale'

There are many oil producing countries where fuel is sold at an expensive rate.

Plus, our main issue is that we earn the same amount from oil as Qatar, with 200 times the population. As such the oil money is not and has never been enough

True, and in addition, fuel is expensive to make.

Maybe the coming online of more refineries might bring some reduction, but definitely not below N200.

You guys should stop this deceit. They should go after the subsidy thieves and close our borders to smuggling products.

They should prosecute and jail defaulters. They should subsidize our true consumption which is about 15million liters a day and not the 66 million liters they claim due to corruption.

They should reduce the cost of governance , their allowances and lots of waste to be cut first. Government is about the people and not about the politicians.

They should fix the power sector and provide enablers for the manufacturing sector

There are lots to be done before total removal of subsidy. Everyday we hear this politician stole 130 billon, another 77 billion….. unending looting.

They should not transfer the inefficiencies of governance to the people. These criminals in power must be held accountable

In no other period in history had the Naira eroded in value with the rate of the period between May 29, 2023 to today.
Nigerians, Yakubu Mahmood who stole the presidential election on behalf of Tinubu, has driven your country to more penury.

Since the politicians refused to process our gods given crude locally, they should allow persons or businesses that have the capacity to import, store and distribute to do so

More players into the market will crash the price

Removing subsidy on a monopolistic market is wrong and the only thing that will make it right is allowing more players into the market
You think if processed locally it would be cheaper ? Lol
