Is this how advanced countries regularly retire their experienced military officers because of the appointment of one person? What a waste of experience and resources.

We are not advanced and we are not fighting wars that advanced countries fight.

We never fight hunger, joblessness and homelessness finish; we wan go dey fight war.

Abeg no compare us to advanced countries on this. We are two parallel lines here.

Make those pot-belly ogas dem go rez. They are just there collecting fat salaries and doing nothing.

Which experience officers?

Has any of them being to a battle field?

None. Na only for training some of them shoot bullets. Real war dem no fight. Dem no fit read common bearings on maps.

Na paddy-paddy, who you know most of them take reach that rank.

Same thing in our police force.

Nigeria doesn’t need army at all. We should just face how to develop and reach the level of UAE or Qatar and be enjoying our lives.

No African country is threatening us. And we don’t have capacity to defeat any European or American countries in wars. Then why do we need the army again?

Just revamp our police - merge them with customs, naval and immigration under one unit and one head, one uniform but with different working tools. Pay them well, train them and invest seriously in IT and sophistications, rebuild all their station to the most simple and modern ones. The respect will come back.

Then we are good to go.

On a second thought you actually have a point here after all these are the same military generals that couldn't even defeat ordinary bokoharam and bandits for the past eight years now.

Trust me: they can’t defeat area boyz in Mushin, let alone UGM or Bokoharam.

Go to barracks and military settlements/cantonments to see how they, lavishly, spend our money.

They don’t report to duty until 12pm and that’s if they choose to report at all.

They don’t sit in any communication or signaling rooms.

All they know is how to finish monthly budgetary allocations to their Units. They carry the finest women and use the most expensive sex enhancement tablets in the world.

In the military, if your Junior is the head, all the seniors must resign. They can't answer 'Sir' to their Junior.
Why not appoint the seniors rather than appointing juniors and forcing experienced seniors to resign?

This tradition has it pros & cons & it seems the cons may outweigh the pros. We are losing experienced public servant out of ego, this tradition needs to be looked into & exceptions made where necessary.

I don't know why they drop so low to pick replacement officers. There are some experienced and useful hands that will be lost because of some rotten eggs.

Since 2008 or so, the echelon of the armed forces needed some form of shake up. Sometimes you wonder if its the same Nigeria Armed forces we used to know.

This democracy has not really helped.
