jumper524:Yes IBB also tried to maneuver behind the scenes to see if he could stay in power and when he lost the support of the military, he had to bow out. But also note that the northern governors had little to do with it because the truncation of the 3rd republic would have meant their loss of power which is exactly what happened when Abacha took over. |
