This message is not complete. The source should also tell us how much the GenCos are selling electricity to the neighboring countries. So we can know exactly where the problem is coming from.

By the time they tell you how much and you somehow miraculously trace the origin of the problem from that piece of information, what are you going to do about it?

The problem of electricity theft and sales to neighbouring countries is one that predates Buhari. Just as had been the case with fuel, these electricity generation companies prefer to "smuggle" power out to other countries, not at a lower rate than what we pay here (disregard that part of this report), but at a rather higher profit margin and with the assurance that they don't have to run after their external customers to get paid. GenCos find it more profitable to deal with these countries than provide electricity for Nigerians who have the unpalatable notoriety of cutting corners.

Sometimes I wonder if these folks realise that a government is created to serve it's country not the other way round and there would be no government without the masses

Sensational news. Tell us the prices na. How else will they earn FX needed to purchase equipment too. Also tell them we have to sell to those countries so that they don’t build their own dams on same river Niger. Tho Niger have gone ahead to build one. But if everyone along the niger river builds a dam there. Kasala go burst for kainji and jebba dams o.

Same way dangote sells cheap cement to Ghana and Zambia

Nigerians are mostly shortchanged by fellow Nigerians than other nationalities everywhere in the universe...! This is a long-established fact!

How can the gencos sell directly when everything goes to the grid? I have not heard of any genco that has it own distribution system. This is garbage news.

Same with dangote cement...more expensive in Nigeria where the raw materials and labourers are gotten than in Benin republic.
