Abia PDP To Otti: Publish The Names Of The Alleged Ghost Workers by Nemere2020: 4:26pm On Jul 19, 2023
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Abia State has challenged, Governor Alex C. Otti to Publish the names of the ghost workers discovered in the pay roll.

The PDP made the disclosure in a statement by the publicity secretary, Amah Abraham.

"The purported discovery of ghost workers without an accompanying proof of the names and account numbers of the ghost beneficiaries is not only childish but a plot that leads to nowhere. Thankfully, the Abia State government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and past PDP governments never paid anybody cash, as salaries were paid through dedicated bank accounts with Bank Verification Numbers, BVN and other personal vital information of account holders as required by Nigerian banking regulations.

The Abia PDP challenges governor Alex Otti and his team of discoverers to publish the name of the over 2000 ghost workers with their BVN numbers, addresses and other details and the ministries, departments and agencies of government that purportedly employed them to shame the perpetrators and possibly bring the culprits to justice.

These and many other missteps of the Alex Otti government point to the fact the present government ab initio was not prepared for governance and clearly does not understand that there are rules guiding the engagement and disengagement of civil servants and is not done by executive fiat. His resort to the tactics of a Sole Administrator in a civil climate would certainly fail, and woefully too."

*Hon. Elder Abraham Amah*

*Abia PDP Vice Chairman/Acting State Publicity Secretary*

Is ghost workers a new thing in our system? PDP is sounding as if this is new to them. The system has been corrupted to the extent that it's nearly impossible to rid our public service of ghost workers. Some will still be planted in the new government.

The Abia State PDP challenges Governor Alex C. Otti to release the names, BVN numbers, and details of over 2000 ghost workers, along with the respective ministries, departments, and agencies that allegedly employed them. The PDP dismisses the claims of discovering ghost workers without providing evidence as childish and futile. The party criticizes the Alex Otti government for its lack of preparedness in governance and failure to adhere to the rules governing civil service engagement and disengagement.

An idiot in my office who was screaming the name of the Guinean drug lord before the elections has been having difficulties coming to the office. He asked me for little financial help yesterday but I told him I don't have a dime. In my heart, I was just laughing at the fool.

Who is responsible for such employment? That should be exposed to Abians.

Shielding the culprit is only watering corruption. People are now aware that you can still big and nothing will happen. At worst, the channel will be blocked.

Someone needs to be sent to jail!

Oh, what a delightful challenge from the Abia State PDP! They have graciously requested Governor Alex C. Otti to publish the names of those pesky ghost workers. How dare they question the government's claims without proof? Surely, the Abia State government under Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the past PDP administrations were paragons of transparency and never paid anyone in cash. We should applaud their impeccable record-keeping and adherence to banking regulations. Now, Governor Alex Otti and his team of discoverers have been called upon to shame the culprits and bring them to justice by providing the names, BVN numbers, addresses, and other details of these elusive ghost workers. It's such a shame that the present government lacks understanding and resorts to "executive fiat" instead of following proper procedures. Bravo, Abia PDP, for your righteous quest for accountability!

oga sentiment will kill you people, in this age of computer, you are saying that names of ghost workers are not in the register, how did they get the number of the said ghost workers, they told you that the workers were not paid cash, they were paid through their bank account with verified bvn details, if you are not playing to the gallery, take up the challenge, bring the culprits to book.call a spade a spade.

Was same way Ikpeazu sacked "ghost workers" when he started. Otti is just walking in his shoes. Meanwhile let him ignore politicking and start governance asap
