Firs clam they achieve something new of better value 5 trillion naira tax generated in 6 months in 2023,and I counter that for us to know the real value they should convert that 5 trillion to USD with present exchange rate and compare with same period last year at the rate last year to compare same.
Your dull head came up with the question of is tax paid in Naira or Dollars, my dear we all know the tax is paid in Naira but subject to the prevailing exchange rate of the time.
E.g.I import goods worts $1000 June 2022 my tax is 30% $300 which in naira will be as at June 2023 at the government official exchange window, it will be 450 naira to a dollar that's 135000 naira paid into the coffers of firs,
Now same transaction going by the official government exchange rate of 750 naira to a dollars as at June this year will be 225,000 that's a difference of 90000 naira on same good and same tax rate.. If you have brain you can see clearly that the Firs is only posting figures for dum..bass like you to rejoice not knowing it's of no "real value".

Oga stop ducking your opinion can only be cast on the last month of June in the report which did see am increase no one is doubting that.....but according to you the entire six months should be held against 760 forgetting that the change to the floatation of the Naira has only been for one month.....and you forget that the tax collected from MDAS and Co attached to the I&E window are not the only variables that contribute to the total.....you did not consider this before you let your mouth start running.....if you want to be quoting against the dollar you will need to get the figures from customs and Co attached to the I&E window cause other taxes like VAT and corporate taxes cannot be run under this your assumption and your difference in dollar valuation can only apply to the month of June, because the other months were pegged at 450 and not 760.......just admit you didn't think it through.......your thought only applies to June and not the other months....
