We should be seeing the effect of this marginal increase in tax revenue in massive infrastructural development to ease the pain of the masses, good roads, urban mass transit system, rural development to help farmers, anything to make life better for the masses should be the focus of government at all lebels
there is no increase, it's just showing those numbers because Naira has been floated, they should convert the naira back to dollars at current rate to compare with what was before at the rate then.. That's when we can truly say they have done well.

Interesting ..

Next month, government will roll out their full plans about how to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Make we save small first, the ministers should be ready anytime next month so that they can start the implementations.

Slow and steady

Can you help us ask your head why tinubu still borrowed 800 million dollars despite raising 5 trillion naira from tax?

Do you use your brain to think at all?

After generating the revenue what's next for the Nigerian economy?
Re: FIRS Generates 5 Trillion Naira Tax In Six Months-Highest Ever by Nobody: 11:40am On Jul 21, 2023
Economy is sure expanding. More money should be out into funding of sustenable power systems, CBN can empower banks to give out financing to Nigerians to enable them buy solar panels and inverters, to add to their power supply... federal government should also build more hydro power systems and windmills in areas where there are high winds. The solution to Nigeria's power system is using a mix of all power sourcees, Hydro, Solar, Windmills, composter waste etc... government should use this huge tax inflows to help states, local governments and Nigerians create mini power systems nationwide. Also government need to model solar mass transit buses, that will use a mix of solar powered energy and electrical energy, this is more sustenable and cheaper to maintain in the long run. Government must invest in agriculture directly, use agro consultant companies to manage it and give them a share of profit, government must intervene in production and supply of food and utilities for Nigerians to increase supply and crash the price for Nigerians.

One of the reasons why we voted for Tinubu.
The most perplexing thing is that if you go back to the current social media status of all those Igbos who criticized peter obi for his obvious abysmal performance during his 8 year rule as Anambra state governor, don't be surprised that they are all fervent 'obidients' now.

What has changed? Nothing but for the fact that he's igbo contesting against candidates from other regions.

They know he doesn't have d capacity to rule an ordinary local govt but they had rather allow a 'bloda' to sink the nation than someone with proven track record to rule.

While it is an improvement, we need to do more. 5Trillion Naira in 6 months is only $7billion or $14b p.a pro-rata. Nigeria needs $60-100B p.a in revenue. Considering our oil revenues are probably around $20b P.A, we have a long way to go.

FIRS should target 5 trillion per quarter

with an economy that is suffering stagflation abi..... Na for una oooooo

You said the current government already requested for $1bn loan, but $800m loan was requested by Buhari administration to cushion the effects of subsidy removal before it was suspended till new administration.

None of you guys talk about 2013 loan repayment under this administration

Stop defending nonsense, if Buhari requested for loans, it's not mandatory that Tinubu will go along with it.

You see why I don't take IGR noise makers seriously, IGR is not the problem, but what you do with the IGR

They are siphoned to the account of the kingpin and leader of the ground. Just like we saw in Lagos State.

I keep telling You you Tinubu supporters, you people are not detailed, Tinubu has taken 500 million dollars loan, that is the link below, please read it.
https://www.nairaland.com/7744067/world-bank-approves-500m-loan

This one here is the 500 billion approved by the senate which bloomberg calculated at 638 million dollars value.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-07-12/nigeria-s-tinubu-seeks-500-billion-naira-to-offset-subsidy-cut

Now the one of 800million dollars was not yet approved by the senate, and if you recall they refused to approve it during the previous assembly citing too much loans already, but of course your lord and master still came in and told them to approve it, Tinubu could have refused taking the loan, in essence it wasn't Buhari that took the loan anymore, it was Tinubu, please read the article below, if a food was served for someone and another person ate the food, who would you say ate the food, the real owner or the eater?
https://www.nairaland.com/7763172/just-tinubu-looks-new-senate

Please do the calculation by yourself and see how much money has been taken and ask yourself if Tinubu is not towing the path of Buhari, if I could recall Buhari also paid off some loans too but look at what he indebted the country with, so that is not a yardstick to use to defend Tinubu, look at what Tinubu has incurred compared to what he has taken as loan...

You guys should stop defending rubbish abeg...

Helinues, are you listening?

Even Tinubu himself said the country needs to sim for 15-20% tax to GDP so I don’t know what your point is. Nigeria is one of the lowest taxed nations in the world and even Africa. The problem is that those that pay tax take the brunt for the majority that don’t pay tax as a result of the laziness of tax collection agencies. There is a large pool of untaxed and I don’t mean the poor.

Thank you for the Tax report and we are happy that the Book is looking really good but please can you guys fashion a way to ensure we enjoy the dividend of these Taxes?
Can we limit the % that goes to Individual pockets due to Corruption and Can the people really enjoy some social interventions?

Good talk,Bro, especially your last statement on the Corruption in that Company and more importantly Most of the MIDAS-( Min& Dept):

To President Tinubu:
The Following Key Govt Ministries should urgently be Forensically Audited to get to the Root of the Corruption there and put up a permanent Templates that will be difficult to override by greedy Politicians:
1• NNPC- when last was it Audited by both ( Internal and External Auditors)?
Who are they? What was their Budgets and how much were received as Revenue and how much was paid to - Single Treasury Accounts of Govt- and Where was the Receipts of Payment Files?
2• the CBN :
- Who are the Signatories to the Govt Accounts?
- What is the Money granted Anchor Borrowers and
-Who are the Beneficiaries?
-Is it for All the Farmers, irrespective of the Region
-and how much was the Loan to Individuals Farmers?
-which Accounts was used for Disbursement and any Variations in Interest Rate Elements and how much is Recovered now from the borrowers?
• Interest Rates on Agric Sectors should be Single- Rate e g 5% to enable More Nigeria's to do well in Agric and feed the Nation, for in Europe is usually between 0 to 2% etc!
Why has Nigerians not seen the Impacts of these Policies since Dr Adesina Of AFDB left the Country?
- What is the situation on the Cashless Policy of CBN - since it has been abandonedidway as many Nigerians summersaults and became poor on our Money Deposited and till today is still hanging in the System?
3• FIRS - Nigerians wants to know what is the Total Revenue Generated - paid into the Govt Accounts, their Personnel Profiles, etc and how much is being Spent and for what?
4- DISCOS - govt still hold percentages Share.
- Although, you signed a Electricity Bill recently, unless you unbundled this entity,Nigeria can't get Industrialization and in the next 4- yrs,We( Nigerians) will ASK YOU,why are we still having light Issues!
The JAPA Syndrome with the 34/% Unemployment is majorly due to Lack of Power in Nigeria because - everything is about the Light- OIL and Finance to move this Country Forward. So,do something urgently:
i- Pay -Off all the so called Owners of Discos- let New Investors comes into Nigeria such as-- The General Electric,Enron,etc,- then give the a Seriou Target to deliver 24/7 Lights up to every Village!
This is the 21 - Century - where American are living in Space and Indian Govt just launched the Moon Explorations! Egypt is already Meeting- 65% of the Power. Needs! Ghana as a Country has done away with Generators!
• Lay a Revolutionary Industrial Growth like in Dubai-, Israel,etc- Accross Nigeria Region to Employ the Youths
• Established Infrastructural Developments Growths
• Established Energy Bank-likevthe Chinese to take care of the Power/ Infrastructures Deficiency all over the Country! See to their Implementations!
NOW is the time.
God bless Nigeria and Nigeria shall be Great again!

the 2013 loan repayment is mandatory, it's not out of tinubu's benevolence, every govt has been keeping up with its mandatory obligation, otherwise there would be consequence. The $800m and the $500m that were requested has it not been given to the govt? Why is the govt yet to roll out anything for the masses but has been very quick in giving the Senate 70 billion for furniture, who even agrees that furniture for senators is more important in a nation whose citizens are going through so much economic challenges, if not corruption.

FIRS did not 'generate' 5 Trillion naira, they took more than 5 trillion from the working people and give 5 trillion naira to the politicians to share among themselves.
