If the strike goes ahead, it is to Tinubu's benefit as the courts will also be on strike thus delaying the Supreme Court judgement thereby giving Tinubu the master of corruption enough time to bribe the supreme court judges or intimidate them or both.

Just keep watching.
No matter the conspiracy theory after all said and done, one thing is for sure, you will definitely still be on the losing side as usual.

Continue wailing Almijiri, 2 can play that game.

Long over due
To add to your suffering?, nothing will be achieved after four days of punishment into the purported strike, after the punishment you will come back & blame government for your new social lowness.

Because the strike of no enterprise will make the Naira stronger against the US dollars?

You will sit @ home, & Government will come & beg you & them to go back to work?

South East Nigeria, has been doing Monday sit @ home for how many years now?

NLC is perceived as an arm of the opposition Labour Party. It didn't put forward its points intelligently with so much bile, threatening and confrontational language in that write up. How do you want govt officials to sit down to negotiate with you after calling them names and rubbishing what they are trying to do?

TUC comes across as a far more serious, strategic and thought provoking union body. Both unions should team up and apply themselves to finding joint solutions and challenging govt intelligently rather than recourse to war-like strategies that will still land on the negotiation table after all the damage is done.

For instance, both unions are putting the needs of their members (less than 5% of the population) at the forefront. I bet if they get an agreeable raise in minimum wage and allowances for their members, they will de-prioritise incentives that better the lots of the vast majority of the people like cash palliatives, affordable public transportation, health and education etc. So who is fighting for who? Staff of our 4 refineries have collectively earned close to N200bln in salaries and allowances without refining a single litre of fuel but NLC will not say a word about it because those staff are members affiliated with it.

They go & play politics then lose, they come back the back way, & say they want to use a purported strike as a weapon?
Re: Nationwide Strike: Full Statement Of NLC Communique by larryj09(m): 11:07pm On Jul 26, 2023
I didn't see any cogent reason for the strike, if increment of minimum wage to a suitable amount for the Masses is not emphasized.

I pray we will get put of this political bunch of people called NLC and TUC one day , where the masses will merge and their voices will be heard without compromising like the usual way the NLC/TUC has been brain washing us. God help my country in Jesus mighty name ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Yes without a shadow of a doubt, the ones with the Obidient mentality want the strike, you are in the millions, but still the major minority.

If Peter Obi had won the election, would you have been calling for a strike?

Is it possible to try & change Nigeria, without this structural Adjustment Policies?

I dont know what the strike aims to achieve......coz the government cannot keep on subsidizing fuel. Their strike is technically to increase minimum wage which will only apply to the government workers and corporate workers with the vast population still the same...

this thing is simple....the government needs money to keep running which at the moment the government don't have, cos over 90% of their earnings is spent on debt servicing....... therefore, subsidy must go!

im also a citizen feeling the pain oooo......but the truth nothing any body can do at the moment....the country has been terribly ran by successive administrations and we are now feeling the results of poor management....

In fact, i believe the worst is yet to come...talking from economic facts and figures without emotions......

Over 90% was spent on debt serving.

Who collected those debt?
What did they do with it?

Why can't the government put palliative measures in place before removing subsidy?
This current pricing is dubious. There is nothing like Market forces here. It just NNPC fixing prices and others following.
If you've noticed, NNPC is always the first to increase its pump price. Then the next day every marketer will adjust.
There are lies in this subsidy remover. This current price is not justifiable because just last year NNPC gave us a smaller figure.

I'm supporting this strike. FG is carrying on as if the masses are not suffering. This is a callous FG. We need to unite
