Fourth pictures is that of Abeokuta currently.

From the pictures, you can see how much Aba has evolved. On the other hand, Abeokuta hasn't changed much. They only replaced rafia roof with rusted roofs.

Everybody knows that Ibadan is more developed than the entire SE combined.

Onitsha is just 52 sq km (Google) with 2/3 of it being slums like Okpoko sprawling wreck and others.
Ibadan is 3080 sq km (Google) with the Bere axis..an old part with mainly old storey buildings which were the best buildings in Nigeria then even when SEasterners were living in huts.

This is Ibadan that still continues to be more developed than the entire Igboland.

I have seen pictures of Onitsha market burning during the civil war. It was a huge inferno. Biafrans were under heavy attack. Many were starving and the future was uncertain. You don't expect people to have the presence of mind to start taking pictures under such atmosphere.

Even Europeans that were more picture savvy have all fled too. Only a few foreign journalists were able to capture some of the pictures in real time.

Below, first picture is Niger bridge after it was blown up.
