Its no longer news that we failed to win Guinea in the just concluded African qualifier.

Some people are of the opinion that Siasia is to blame for being over principled. Some say he should have fielded Enyeama instead of Aiyenugba or whatever he calls himself. Others say he was not tactical throughout the game as he failed to make the right substitution at the right time.

Many Nigerians are infuriated up to the point that they are calling for Siasia's head. Should he be sacked or not? Response please.
Thanks.

Yes he should, wat's so worst dan not qualify 4 a continent tornament.Siasia let d team down in name of discipline&he also lack technica competence.1stly wat prevent him 4m invitng Enyeama,Etuhu, matins, odiah, sanni keita e.t.c,2ndly,he shud ve started wit ik uche&musa. Finaly,d worst part of it is dat,he substitute one of d key player in d middle wit a striker.Honestly d man sti ve a lot to learn abt coaching.

Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by Nobody: 12:12pm On Oct 09, 2011
He should resign if he has any dignity, however failiure to do this he should be sacked and replaced with someone like Sunday Oliseh who actually has a coaching certificate.

Samson Siasia cannot be exonerated from blame in the ouster of Nigeria from qualifying for the Nations cup in january 2012. Is it the lacklustre approach to the game, the technical flaws that were evident, the woeful performance of Aiyenugba, the non-inclusion of Enyeama, the unguarded boasts of Siasia before the game that Guinea will fall in Nigeria, etc. As head coach Siasia did not deliver! However, it has become an experience for him. Let's hope he learnt something from the experience.

9ja pple r pweety gud @ suggestin shitz. So bcuz he ddnt qualify, we shld sack him. Ryt? So u expect a team without discipline? Knw u guys wil say dat if enyeama wuz in d team, we wouldnt hv conceded d last goal buh hw did mourinho transformed chelsea, porto, inter and now madrid? Wad of hiddink's brief xploitz @ stamford? Wuz it nt discipline? Westerhorf faild in his 1st mission as our head coach. Yet, his record stil stands - he built 9ja best team so far that would hv conquered europe. Som1 even degraded sia1 by comparin him wyt. amodu. Is it dat amodu alias gej thatz so insanely clueless? Y nt start d cleansin frm d root?

Nigerians!!!!! we like to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. That's called stupidity. We should leave siasia to continue with his job and give him enough time to build a good team. Dont  fotget he didnot start the qualifier and expecting him to correct a mistake someone else made is a tall order. Lets Give him a fresh start.

I am one of the stupid Nigerians. I want Siasia OUT
Retaining a coach who has never delivered is also not bright in my book either

BTW this is Wikipedia entry for Siasia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samson_Siasia

It is too impressive. Is he the one updating it?
Can somebody please update it to reflect that under him a 25 year record has been broken?
Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by Obinoscopy(m): 1:13pm On Oct 09, 2011
The ultimate question is this: Will the sacking of Siasia solve the myriad of problems of our Super Eagle Team?
Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by BetaThings: 1:24pm On Oct 09, 2011
^^^^
It will solve one KEY problem - that of a good coach, respected by players
We are trying to solve the problem, 1 at a time. Better than not solving them at all

The man shud be left alone. From my own stand point.siasia is juxt about getting started.if from now on he cannot perform, then we know he is not the man for the job.he was only trying to correct someone elses mistake.

Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by bong4(m): 1:42pm On Oct 09, 2011
as long as i am concern and will keep saying it, even if you bring Mourinho and whatever to coach the super eagles, the present crop of players will take u no where. they are simply over bloated and over hyped. I get sick when i hear of calls for aiyegbeni, osaze, martins, enyeama, THEY ARE NOT GOOD. Enyeama and co would not have done better if fielded. Siasia should work with committed home based, after all they played better during the WAFU cup. If he decides to continue with the present crop of eagles THEN I AM SORRY FOR, HE WILL JUST ACHIEVE A LITTLE BETTER THAN AMODU AND EGUAVOEN who give uus heart attack induced football.
For now the best coach is JOHN OBUH who gives us better wing play and commitment from players than all these over pampered foreign based. Imagine we are even behing Burkina Faso on FIFA ranking. BY THE WAY ARE WE STILL PLAYING GHANA on tuesday?
Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by ibes4ever: 1:44pm On Oct 09, 2011
He should not be sack but be cautioned of discipline. Discipline is good but over discipline is bad, that was what spoit the game. That game was a crucial one that we needed experience players, goal keeper like enyeama and tactical coach to secure that point for us but due to over principle we failed. let him be cautioned so that this cannot hapopned again. thanks

Which coach is not trying to correct another mistakes. Unless you are d 1st ever appointment.
Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by SuyaEater(m): 1:53pm On Oct 09, 2011
I think siasia needs time to develop with these players, let them grow together, what we know about mistakes is that we learn from them, siasia has gain alot of experience from this, next year we will begin another qualification for the 2013 edition let him be in charge.

The longest coaching tenure in naija's history was clement westerhoff who coached nigeria from 1989 - 1994, what the guy had was time and he was able to gather talents together to form that great teams of the 90s, and i hope siasia gets the same treatment.

What nigeria needs is not results right now but consistency and time for them to gel together,
Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by executinal(m): 1:56pm On Oct 09, 2011
@ Op, he should not be sacked. He should be allowed to take his time and build new supper eagles.

Shud Siasia b Sacked. . . , shdn't b d question! rada who 's 2 coach d super eagles?
Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by montelik(m): 2:11pm On Oct 09, 2011
Whatever d decision, we better make it quick and know exactly what we plan to achieve by d action eventually taken. By now it should be obvious to us that African footie is no longer child's play. D new format of WC qualifiers leaves no room for error, so there is a lot improvement to be done if we want to even have a chance of getting there.

Personally I had my big doubts when Sia1 was given d job, but najia fans insisted on him and no one else and hounded d NFA into giving him d job and d most healthy environment any local coach has ever had. He enjoyed full fan appreciation, plenty of friendlies, no money issues and less interference, friendly and respectful media. Yet this has not been reflected in d results.

For me Sia1 as talented as he is, was given d job a long way before he was ready for it. Senior international football is very different to under aged, even club football doesn't really prepare you for international coaching. While I believe he was promoted long before he was ready, sacking him is not wise. Once d appointment was made, we should have known that it was going to  be a learning journey with risks attached. Let's us leave him to continue and hope he learns quickly without unnecessary bad results. After all if we sack him now, who will we hire? Will we start d same process again looking for a new coach. We made our choice and most reasonable pple should have known it would require a significant investment of patience and even long suffering.
