First, he was NOT accused of rape…
But rather of an attempt and bodily assault.

Further, there’s no proof that he was “framed up”…
The CPS dropped prosecution primarily because key witnesses later withdrew cooperation.

The standard of criminal conviction is very high - beyond a reasonable doubt…
And there’s no point in persisting with a prosecution that wouldn’t be able to meet that high burden of proof.

Without prejudice to Mason Greenwood’s case (none of us were there)…
It’s always BETTER to free 10 factually guilty persons than to convict even 1 factually innocent person.

Nonetheless, we should never do anything that effectively DISCOURAGES reporting…
As it is, too many actual sexual harassments, sexual assaults and rape go unreported (especially in Nigeria)!
