U guys just say rubbish.how much does niger earn from uranium? Do u have idea of the cost. Does niger have the money or u think Russia will build it for free.
Second, it will take at least five years to design and build, wat will happen b4 then
Thirdly, Niger doesn't even have the technical know how to maintain nuclear power in the first.

So it begins..

Cut off power, throw their major cities and towns into darkness..

Starve them of basic amenities e.g. food items, personal hygiene etc.

Move the Military tanks towards their border,

If the coup plotters in Niger republic still refuse to surrender.. Boom, give the kill order and everywhere go stew. They should ask Phillip Effiong how far, with all the support from SA, France etc., their leader Ojukwu still fled.

Russia can write it off as debt na, afterall dem just forgave some african state debt of about $23billion, besides, dem fit collect some Uranium too and help Niger to sell to those european countries like france who needs it badly to power their own nuclear plants to generate energy. Russia can act as a middle man here. Cool business to generate some cool $ i tell ya.

Uranium isn't something that is that scarce. Heck tens of countries have large deposits of Uranium.

Also Uranium trade isn't something you just dig up and start touting on the international market. Mines are owned and operated by a company. You would have to revoke that and assign such mines to new owners. Canada , Mexico has been ramping up production of Uranium and should be able to cover any deficit of Uranium produced by Niger. It is not an easy task to switch but with the Ukrainian war , we have seen how countries have manage gas sales after the EU sanctions on Russia .

Believe the trash from Russia that they forgave $23b at your own Peril. They should state the breakdown and the countries they would give the money to.

What's the whole population of Niger? A country of just about 25 million people doesn't need much megawatts (big powerplant) to have 24/7 power supply. If Nigeria could be supplying them out of our meagre 11k megawatts being generated from 23 different powerplants, Russian will build it within few weeks for them. They have uranium in abundance.
