I am not asking for pity.. I just want to rant.. this is my happy place

started this journey in January.. stopped updating the thread because I wasn't at Ibadan.. I just ask about their wellbeing on the phone and send money home..

I started with 2500 fingerlings..

Here is the thread I launched immediately I began but I bought the fingerlings around May.

An incident happened 2 weeks ago at Ibadan (https://www.nairaland.com/7775617/residents-stranded-heavy-downpour-cuts/3#124621775), and when I saw the news on NL fp, I quickly hit my mom and asked if she was okay.. I asked about the fishes too and she gave a deep sigh before saying yes but I didn't read any deep meaning to it..

My mom who cares for them didn't call me to remind me about their feeds money which was strange and when I finally remembered, she said they were okay and she insisted she wanted to come to Lagos to spend a few days because she "needed rest"..

I asked who was going to take Care of 'my boys' as I always referred to them but she shrugged it off and relunctantly mentioned Kehinde, a 12 year old girl that lives with her. I protested that the girl was too young to live alone for days nevertheless take care of 2500 catfishes on her own but she again played the emotional card of 'if a mother isn't free to rest at her son's house' and I had no choice but to just cave in..

I had no clue.. no fvckin clue in h3ll..

She came, spent a night with me, and asked that I take her to her younger sister's house at Iyana-Ipaja.. We got there and we had barely set foot inside there when she burst into tears and her sister broke the news to me..

I was dumb for several minutes.. I shed hot steamy tears.. Yes, men cry..

This happened yesterday though.. I want to believe I have gotten over it..

This is a natural disaster and I have counted my losses.. but if anyone says I am lazy, I am glad I won't have to explain explain tire, I am trying and evidence dey!

I hope those who will finally eat my boys will eat it well knowing they ate my investment and my sweat free of charge..

We what?? we meeeeuuvee!!
