Nothing like defiance... Ecowas should swallow their pride and engage the junta on a timetable for return to democracy... You can't displace these guys now with a military action... 1 Like |

Kukutente23: And you think that a pattern of military usurpation in West Africa, does not affect the democratic stability of the rest of the countries like Nigeria, Ghana, and Ivory Coast that are currently with democratic governments? Do you want a return to military dictatorship in Nigeria? If your answer is No, and you still think ECOWAS led by Nigeria has no business ensuring the rule of legitimate law in Niger, only shows your ignorance about regional stability. If your answer is Yes, then obviously you have every reason to want Niger to be left alone, so that you can also demand that Nigeria be left alone once you get your wish. 3 Likes |

Throwback:There's nothing like pattern. Stop swallowing gibberish from western propaganda outlets except you are one of them. All the countries were coup have taken place are francophone. There's no way the coup affects the stability of the region because Niger was led by military regime from 1999 to 2010 and Nigeria had a civilian govt with no threat of coup whatsoever. Your claim is more of paranoia than reality. However, if the underlying issues which led to the coup, such as civilian govt becoming western puppets and running the Country aground in all spheres in a bid to please the west, becomes a reality in Nigeria or any other west African country, the govt runs a risk of being toppled, if not via coup, then via revolutionary method. And to your question, Ecowas has no business ensuring the "legitimate" rule cause no ecowas Country signed a pact that democracy is the only allowed form of govt. If ECOWAS wants to become the political system police, then it should also ensure that democratic ideals are obeyed by those in power. And ivory Coast president just forced a third term for himself. Its that your idea of democracy? 2 Likes 1 Share |
