FG is right to a significant extent.

Apart from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), no other federal university has increased its fees or permitted to increase its fees.

That's the status quo for now. It shows how smart and proactive the UNILAG management is; they quickly designed a template to help them recover the increased over head costs, went through the due process , defended it, got FG approval, took the approved adjusted fees to the university unions and got the unions on board. UNILAG gained the first mover advantage as the door is shut against other universities that came late after the HOR resolution.
That's the signature brand UNILAG university culture benefit of having experienced university administrators.
Great university with smart leaders. If you no attend UNILAG, the university of First Choice and the nation's pride ehn, you don miss something very valuable.Check my signature for free stuffs!

What do you mean by no other institution? Don't wait for mainstream media to feed you with information before you know what's happening around you. Ask around if there was an increase in Unilorin Uniben etc before you start believing the government.

Nothing like federal school. Federal university is greater than any other you can think of. During my duration in GREAT IFE, For the whole 4years I didnโ€™t spend up to 100k on fees. It still baffles me when I hear some state school charging 100k plus per session. My young brothers, in all you do strive to gain admission into a federal university. The benefits are immense.
almost all federal university has increased their fee. Some state university are even cheaper now than most federal university

Please stop this lying, all universities has increased their fees, starting from 2022/2023 session, it because unilag just started their own 2022/2023 session, also the fees universities are charging for the services they rendered, is it not outrageous? They do this because no one asked the VCs how they expended the internally generated income. If we see the visitation panel report, we will notice that large percentage of these income went into personal purse. So the university are expected to revert to 2021/2022 charges, because all of the has increased it in this correct session. They have to consider parents who are experiencing hard economic situation now.

The time has come for the Federal Government to get out of the education sector. Hand over all universities and teaching hospitals to the States where they are located or better yet SELL them off to private investors.

Many of us have forgotten that prior to 1975, no university in Nigeria was owned by the Federal Government. Most primary & secondary schools were owned by private persons or groups. Objective measures attest to the higher quality of education in the era before government intervention and ownership.

Nigerians must get over their evolved socialist culture. Producers and servicers must be paid in a free market where prices are freely set and all are allowed to participate.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

A university increased fees from N20,000 to N120,000 and you are here praising them! Do you think deep as a Nigerian? Do you know how many students from poor/humble homes would drop out because they are unable to pay such fees?
You must be one of the reasons why Nigeria keeps having useless, irresponsible administrators and leaders in the universities and at all levels of governance!
Pathetic thinking!

They will charge the fees under a

๐Ÿ‘‰Post UTME fees

๐Ÿ‘‰ Admission Acceptance fees

๐Ÿ‘‰Faculty registration fees

๐Ÿ‘‰Departmental registration fees

๐Ÿ‘‰ Course registration fees

๐Ÿ‘‰ Development Levy

๐Ÿ‘‰ increased hostel fees

A person can increase their purchasing power by working hard, investing in a business or inventing something useful. It's not the role of government to increase anyone's earning power.

To wit, the minimum wage should be abolished, especially at the Federal level. Minimum Wage is counterproductive but if it must exist let the States determine it, at least it will be a factor in economic competition.

The countries with highest standards of living like Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Hong Kong and such DO NOT HAVE Minimum Wage laws. Switzerland only introduced Minimum Wage as a State matter less than 10 years ago and only ONE state in that country has it...I think.

Good Luck to Nigeria.
