Some residents in Taraba communities have resorted to stealing farm produce to feed their families amidst the harsh economic situation in the country.

Reports from some communities across the state revealed that incidents of stealing of raw cassava, yam and maize were recorded in recent weeks.

A woman, who owned a cassava farm in one of the villages in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of the state, told Daily Trust Saturday that she caught her neighbours harvesting cassava in her farm severally.

The female farmer, Lami John, told our reporter that the first person she caught in her farm confessed that he stole cassava from her farm not to sell but to feed his family.

I told him to go and l did not report the matter to our ward head because l know him as an honest person,” she said.

Lami stated further that she recorded more of such cases in her farm and all those she caught were her neighbours and actually stole the cassava to feed their families.

Another farmer, Ibrahim Suleiman, told Daily Trust Saturday that he caught his neighbours stealing maize from his farm four times but did not report the matter to the police or to their ward head.

He said he knew that those he caught were never identified with any criminal acts in the village but “probably the hard time might be the factor behind their action.”

Stealing farm produce is not a sin according to the Bible

As long as it's for consumption it's allowed only become a sin when you sale it or do it via greed

In fact it's a sin to harvest all your crops from your farm... U are meant to leave some for the hungry passerby

According to the Bible Sha not Nigerians law

Wow so unfortunate. This is the reality that hate filled bigots like this one below cannot understand

NgeneUkwenu:
PetObidients Terrorists will cry blood today... grin grin

They will abuse him and his father...Peter Obi has breed a group of hate- filled monsters in Igboland.. And i think they are now irredeemable...

In fact...May God Punish Peter Criminal Obi endlessly..

Education and integrity are good virtues one should strive for in life .

These touts and iliterates have tried to reduce the almighty obidients movement to a tribal and ethnic thing but that have failed woefully.

Obidients cut across all state tribes ethnic groups and religion.

The hate what they fear 🤣 this is a trait of weak people. Allowing hatred move atribe is what has led us to this unfortunate situation.

If you are a pained tribal bigot aigbe ovbie osa go and find a Bini person to interpret that for you

May Allah continue to bless the SS, SE, NW, and NC
