My brother's and sisters the truth is that there is war in Nigeria caused by the politicians they have succeeded in dividing Nigeria to the point that social media is now the battle field every tribe insulting each other every minutes and second every youth wanting to defend one politcal criminal from there region please nairalanders the earlier we stop insulting ourselves the better for us let us stop all these tribal name calling and focus on how to bring change in our time

In a country of over 200 million people, it's like:

1) we don't have a seasoned electrical engineer in the country so our president had to appoint a banker as a Minister of Power

2) We don't have a qualified Mineralogist or even a Chemist or geologist in the country so our president had to appoint a journalist as a Minister of Solid Mineral Development

3) We don't have a seasoned aviation expert or aeronautical engineer in Nigeria so a lawyer had to appointed a Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

4) a 63 year old grand pa is a Minister of Youth obviously because there is no younger person in Nigeria. By the way, what exactly will be the job of the so called Minister of Youth? Combining Youth and Sports Development under one Ministry seems to make more sense. Why separate them..

Making Dave Umahi the works minister is one of the best appointments Tinubu made. That man will teach Nigerians that a politician's ability to perform has nothing to do with his party. Who will work, will work.

As Ebonyi governor, Dave would visit his ongoing projects in the middle of the night and measure things himself to be sure it aligns with what he agreed with the contractor. That's the benefit of having an engineer as governor; I hope he doesn't lose that zeal as a minister.

Totally agree. Was in Abakaliki during his first tenure and can attest to how he transformed the state even with limited funds.

This is arguably one of Tinubus best appointment

Buhari also had aim to develop the sector. It could bring in billions of dollars.
Dele Alake as the minister is very good, the president would be getting minute by minute information how to develop the sector and what exactly to do. I expect to get resounding result.


Bello Matawalle – Minister of State for Defence
Politicians as defence ministers is good because the insecurity in the country need political solutions.

Misplaced priority. This is why the country is lagging. Why putting people where they have no or little expertise of, where they have to learn through the job? This is tantamount to putting round peg on a square hole. It doesn't make sense at all.
You cannot say you want to hit the ground running but putting people where they have to use months to learn about their ministry to be to effective. It doesn't make sense at all. We've been repeating the same mistake over and over again.

Even Trump appointed Ben Carson (yes the neurosurgeon Ben Carson you know) as minister (Secretary) of Housing and Urban planning in 2017.
He didn't appoint the GRVs of architecture to head the housing sector but a medical doctor.
