Career counselling is not taken seriously in our secondary schools as truly there are many presently in polytechnics and universities, studying courses they have no business doing and would not take them anywhere after school.

I also observed that many who came to the UK for their Masters wasted money studying courses that have not improved their chances of getting jobs that had good pay and career prospects after graduation. Oversaturation is the issue. All fields are relevant and I think the NUC and polytechnic equivalent should be mandated to reconcile departmental/faculty sizes with societal needs of skills.
