Exactly! That's what I'm trying to let them know. NYSC is not interested when you are doing your program in as much as you are not above 30 at your graduation year.

For her to be considered for ministerial position, She must have been benefitting from the state without NYSC all these while.
Going for nysc is just to avoid public persecution because all eyes will be on her as a minister.

And any little thing public and private company will be asking for NYSC certificate for recruitment.

When you start bending rules or the law to favour a select few, that's a recipe for lawlessness and disaster. Being a servant or not isn't what's the issue here, the issue is that the act is against the law. Take your emotions out of it bro. A corper can't take up a form of appointment like she's doing, those Corp members you're referring to are taken as an ad-hoc staff of few weeks only. Is INEC ad-hoc staff equal to the position of a minister??
Until that law is discarded or changed, it's still against the law for a serving corp member to take up a ministerial appointment.

I think NYSC act is outdated and the program should be made optional.
While I don't want to join the debate as to whether it has any merit or not, I think if a person has got something doing after graduation, she/he should be exempted because if you leave any opportunity and go for NYSC, the opportunity may no longer be there by the time you come back after service year.
