The Gabon 🇬🇦 coup is the 3rd coup in Africa this year

The First was on the 25th of February 2023 when INEC committed a civilian coup in Nigeria 🇳🇬

Followed by the military coup in the Republic of Niger 🇳🇪.

Dangote refinery another scam till possibly 2025. People that should be stoned to death masquerading as leaders. They've destroyed the country and made the poor masses poorer.

An who told you that the California high speed rail project is dead? Please read its current state below:

CA.govCA.gov website

About California High-Speed Rail
The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is responsible for planning, designing, building, and operating the first high-speed rail system in the nation. California high-speed rail will connect the megaregions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs, and preserve agricultural and protected lands.

When completed, Phase 1 of the high-speed rail system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of exceeding 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations. In addition, the Authority is working with regional partners to implement a statewide rail modernization plan that will invest billions of dollars in local and regional rail lines to meet the state’s 21st century transportation needs.

Our Objectives
The Authority is working toward three fundamental objectives:

Initiate high-speed rail passenger service as soon as possible.
Make strategic, concurrent transportation investments that will link over time and provide mobility, economic and environmental benefits at the earliest possible time
Position ourselves to construct additional segments as funding becomes available.
Our Progress
The Authority has 119 miles of active construction in the Central Valley with dozens of active construction sites.
422 miles of the 500-mile Phase 1 system from San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim have been environmentally cleared.
The Authority has acquired almost all the right-of-way parcels needed for construction in the Central Valley.
The design work for construction in the Central Valley is nearing fully complete.
Project Benefits
Economic:
The project has created over 11,000 good-paying labor jobs.
The project generated $16 billion in economic output from July 2006 to June 2022.
There are currently over 770 small businesses working on the project.
To date, $5.5 billion of program expenditures have been spent in and benefitted disadvantaged communities.
Environmental:
Our zero emission trains will be powered by 100% renewable energy.
On average, California’s electrified high-speed rail will keep more than 3,500 tons of harmful pollutants out of the air – every year.
We have planted more than 7,100 trees to offset emissions produced through construction.
We have avoided over 420,000 pounds of criteria air pollutants during construction.
We have preserved or restored more than 2,900 acres of habitat.
Important Project Milestones
2023 – Authority receives $20 million in RAISE grant funding from the federal government for the Fresno High-Speed Rail Station Historic Depot Renovation and Plaza Activation Project.
2023 – Authority marks 10,000 jobs created on the high-speed rail project since the beginning of construction.
2022 – The Authority released its Draft 2022 Business Plan, opening up a 60-day period of public comment.
2022 – The Board approved the environmental documents for the Burbank to Los Angeles project section. The Board’s approval is a critical milestone that moves the project section closer to being “shovel ready” as funding becomes available.
2021 – The Board approved the environmental documents for the Bakersfield to Palmdale project section. This action marked the first certification of an environmental document in the Southern California region.
2021 – The Board approved the Revised 2020 Business Plan. This action reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to deliver a 171-mile Merced-Fresno-Bakersfield interim electrified service line in California’s Central Valley.
2020 – The Board approved the Central Valley Wye environmental document. These actions, along with the clearance of the final section of the Fresno to Bakersfield project section in 2018, provided for full environmental clearance for 171 miles of future high-speed rail alignment between Merced and Bakersfield.
2019 – Project Update Report laid out the path forward for the Merced-Fresno-Bakersfield line, a building block project that matches the available funding.
2018 – Chief Executive Officer Brian P. Kelly and his staff composed the latest business plan expressing the progress that has been made while candidly confronting challenges going forward.
2017 – Governor Brown and the Legislature secured the establishment of an important step in long-term funding stability for the project by approving AB 398 extending the Cap-and-Trade Program through 2030.
2015 – A ground breaking ceremony was held in Fresno to signify the beginning on HSR construction.
2012 – Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. highlighted the benefits of this system in his State of the State address and declared that high-speed rail was a priority for his Administration.
2009 – $8 billion in federal funds was made available nationwide as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
2008 – The bond measure (Proposition 1A) was approved by the state’s voters, making it the nation’s first ever voter-approved financing mechanism for high-speed rail.
2002 – Senate Bill (SB) 1856 (Costa) was passed that authorized a $9.95 billion bond measure to finance the HSR system.
1996 – The Intercity High-Speed Rail Commission determined HSR in California was, in fact, feasible. The California High-Speed Rail Authority was then created by the Legislature to oversee implementation.
1994 – As part of the High-Speed Rail Development Act of 1994, California was identified as one of the five corridors nationally for high-speed rail planning. The California Legislature also created the Intercity High-Speed Rail Commission and charged it with determining the feasibility of a system in California.
1981 – California pursued the idea of a Southern California high-speed rail (HSR) corridor working with Japanese partners.

..... the thing weak me, trying to compare a project that was built on external loan and one that the funding was from tax payers. He fails to make the point that a country with over two hundred million people do not have a functioning public transportation system which is symptomatic of a poorly run government.

Because he is refusing to publish all the propaganda you pushed him anymore.

For years you guys used the media to sell lies.. lies upon lies about Nigeria and the economy.

Foreign investors believed and made the mistake of coming here to invest then they lost billions.

From Jumia to Konga to bata ro nestle to Glaxo to Lufthansa to Kellogs to ToyRUs to Lego to Walmart to Pizza hut , etc I could go on and on listing foreign investors whis believed the lies from the Lagos Chamber of commerce then..

You sold Bloomberg et al the usual lies that the Nigerian chamber of commerce spits out daily backed by the propaganda from the Nigerian bureau of statistics.

All false fake data based on a 200 million population, what you didn't tell them which they all later realized is that there has been no real census so we don't know if our population is 200 million or 50 million.

What they also realised was that of that fake 200 million population there is no middle class only a 1% elite and a 99% extremely poor class.

So now they all got angry and started pulling out their Forex. It's a matter of time before Dstv leaves too, I foresee them selling off to a local partner and devesting from the Nigerian economy. This year's Big brother Naija has recorded the lowest revenue ever!!

The politicians wasted years building concrete castles like Eko Atlantic city which their citizens can't afford instead of investing in human capital so they can sustain the middle class . Now the middle class is extinct in Nigeria.

Companies have no customers who can purchase their products .

Starlinks has sold less here in Nigeria than Kenya. Yet we claim to have 200 million while Kenya are around 20 million people, let that sink in .

Nigeria is fast fading and the president still thinks propaganda can fly. The world has seen the truth and they have run from your economy .
Kenya is growing in leaps and bounds every foreign company not found in Nigeria is in Kenya, From Microsoft to all the foreign airlines, to Lego to sharp to Sony to Asus to Siemens to Atlus to Ubisoft to every single foreign investor you can think of have offices in Kenya not Nigeria.

Until the citizens push for good leaders Nigeria will continue crashing more and more while you open threads on Nairaland wailing and blaming others for your problems instead of facing your leaders.

I think Lagos had one or at most 2. They have closed up since. Because they made No profit and the economy killed them long ago, why? The citizens in Nigeria are poor and can't afford such, against Kenya where their minimum wage is better and the people have much more disposable income because Kenya has a huge middle class.

The only business in Nigeria that survives are those for the extremely poor like pure water or those that carter to the 1% rich

How old are you? When was the last census ? So what is your population? What is your birthrate and deathrate ?

Nigeria has zero stats . Everything is fake and madeup from IGR to GDP. Nothing is real! It is all false stats.

Even your daily crude oil exports data are fake

Until the government understands that false data hurts no one else but the country Nigeria won't progress .

This is why you can't find a Sony branch in Nigeria or big developers like Activision yet they are in Kenya.

I heard Apple is considering handing over their office in Nigeria to a partner and pulling out like Microsoft did silently .

Nigeria is gone the Lagos propaganda machine finished this Nation. See you can lie about being rich to everyone and for a while everyone would be fooled until they start bringing goods and services for the rich to your doorstep and each time you eiher fail to pay or outrightly can't afford .

So those who rented shops close to your house believing your lies about being rich (foreign investors) get angry and sell off their shops and leave

This is very true.

It also holds true for local investors... A lot of them have high cost of running businesses, and the patronage to their business equally suffers due to higher costs of living.

The Middle class is buried, and this has since spelled doom for all large and medium scale businesses, even some Small-scale businesses too.

In all these separately lie the TRUTH!

...And the sad truth is that this nation is dying. I mean literally has gone beyond rock bottom due to bad and idiotic policies, corruption that has worsened under APC, and inability to grow the economy since GEJ handed over.

All the facts are there... You can choose to pretend that they don't exist, in the name of focusing on the positives alone. Sadly, that won't arrest the decline.

Hahaha you are comparing Nigeria to Kenya. You are talking about population and using zero data to compare middle class and market size when there is clear data that will show that.

Market indices will show you size of organised corporate size

Trading volume will show you activity

Float will show you how much of the corporates is owned by strategic investors.

Dollarize the free float and NGN is still ahead in indigenous participation. Kenya is controlled by a few foreign/naturalised families ( mainly indian) and their political acolytes.

You made a lot of sense

But

Nigeria still remain the Biggest economy on the continent.... So it's still a beautiful bride.. Many of the companies leaving are scaling down since they were overbloated initially or effect of economic downturn which is a global thing currently. Almost all economies of the world is going through a hard time ...... consequences of Covid and the Ukraine war.

See for every company that leaves at least 5 more is opening. Nigerians like foreign things too much that's why even affairs of foreign companies is of concern to us..... Many locally owned companies are coming up.....it's even one of the reasons some of those companies are leaving....the competition from local firms is becoming too much and their profit margins drastically reduced.

Anyone that believe local newspapers uses lies and propaganda but believe in Bloomberg is still a slave still chained to the shackles of European slave merchants. All these advanced countries uses some form of propaganda or another to advance their economies....so if it happened in Nigeria it's not new. I give you example. Hollywood is the biggest propaganda machine of the US government.
