Give them 2 months and they will start crying and wishing that the military handover back to the former president. The worst democracy is better than the best military regime.

I agree with you . However you need to understand that Africans have really suffered in the hands of their Democratic leaders . Do you know the level of injustice in this country ? It is horrible . People will welcome any form of change and hope it will get better .

I’m sure you will agree with me that if the government is performing slightly above average the likelihood of a coup is reduced . Our leaders have lost touch with the pains and sufferings of people . The fear of a coup is what can make them sit up .

Jonathan was quickly sworn in after the death of Yardua because there was a threat of military coup when they refused to swear him in and kept nigeria without a president for months

But to think that some african leaders still hold onto power even in democracy for years as if it is a monarchical system is baffling....

Africans deserve better than the type of selfish leaders we've been punished with..

The first true attribute of democracy is the ability to elect leaders of our choice,

The first true attribute of democracy is the ability to accept when you have lost an election.

While it is true that many of the coups going on in Africa are a result of the bad policies of the government, there is a difference between disaffection with a government with bad policies and disaffection because you lost an election. They are not the same. Only those who have never lived in a military regime will pray for military intervention. All this nonsense you people are posting on social media, you can’t try it in a military regime. You will be picked up and never seen again. Do you think DSS dont have the IP address of the device and ISP you are posting from? Did you not register with your ISP orSIM card with a name and/or NIN? It’s because you are in a civilian regime you can say what you want, true or false and get away with it.

People lost elections when you were in pseudo power in 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 periods when rigging was blatant and at it’s peak. They didn’t bring the country down and bully everybody. Why whenever you don’t get what you want, you always want to burn the house down, like you did in 1966-1970?

Those who cannot accept the results of a democratic election are themselves the ones undeserving of democracy.

Ousted President, Ali Ondimba Bongo was 'elected' President in 2009, just after the death of his father and predecessor, Omar Bongo, who was President from 1967 until his death.

The ousted Bongo, in 1977, released a funk album titled,
"A Brand New Man," which was produced by Charles Bobbit.
These are some of the factors that instigates military interventions : long stay in power by manipulating the constitutions like Gabon, Cameroun; rigging of elections like Ivory Coast, Nigeria; quests to end imperialism like Mali, Boukinafaso, Niger,Guinea. My main reservation in relation to military leadership is dislocation of primary objectives. Who ever thinks Nigeria has outgrown military interventions should think again .

This is to tell you how African citizens are fast embracing military juntas who they once detest, but now accepting them back. Because he that is down fears no fall. No military regime can be worse than what we currently have as civilian governments.

The first true attribute of democracy is the ability to elect leaders of our choice, but no, they rig elections, unleash thugs on people they perceive not as their supporters, beat up electorates, snatch ballot boxes even with the help of security agents, write results and announce it. And expect you to accept that as democracy , and tell you it is better than military government. If this is what they call democracy, sane African societies are telling them they will rather accept military government.

If the judiciary does not restore confidence , I am afraid for Nigeria, the whole world may soon read same story on headlines of various media outlets just like Mali, Guinea, Niger, and now Gabon , even though we do not wish for such

Thank you for your submission. I told a friend of mine last year that if our politicians don't do the right thing and this suffering lingers a military coup may happen. He said ...na lie...well we are watching......

You're just rattling, wailing and SAYING contradictory rubbish. Democracy is not the best system of governance and can easily be abused.
The main reason why you're pained is because ɗemocrasy doesn't favour you and your people and you're most likely one of the minority groups...
In democracy, some groups of idīots can just gather themselves, make decisions and the decision will stand, JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE THE MAJORITY.

Mumu people, when military enter , will they do better, are they not more currupt than the civilian, didn't the political class use them to rig election, are they not the once stealing our oil with civilians, in civilised countries, the citizens protect the democratic institutions by keeping their leaders on toe, but here it's all about tribe and religion, who is in charge of inec, who are returning officers, are they not prophesors, vice chancellors, who are the inec electoral staffs, youth coppers that want good jobs, yet they aid in rigging election, the ict guy that manipulated the inec sever is he not a pastor in rccg church, stop deceiving yourself, Nigeria can't be better, a rotten mango can never be good , it's better to separate the country along religion and ethnic affinity. It can't work, will never work . Africa is full of evil people.

Many are tired of the so called democracy.

The old, cruel, and covetous politicians are to blame.
Democracy can't work in Africa, this is because it harbor corruption alot and prevent development. Most of the development you see in some countries was as a result of pass development by the military. For example, in Nigeria the refineries and dam we have now were done during the military regime, till now the only project the so called democracy government can do now is road and bridges. The other projects is to loot. Just to put the refineries in good shape has become a problem to them.

El Hadj Omar Bongo Ondimba was a Gabonese politician who was the second president of
Gabon for almost 42 years, from 1967 until his death in 2009. His son took over and you still say democracy is the best?

Africa's democracy is adulterated.

Two years after Ondimba was elected President of Gabon in 1967 ... Gaddafi lead a military coup and became President of Libya in 1969 ..... Gabon under democracy ... Libya under a military junta. Ondimba stepped down as President in 2009 .... Gaddafi was assassinated two years later in 2011. Both ruled for the same number of years. How well did Gabon do under democracy? How well did Libya do under military rule? The difference was like night and day.
We cannot judge the outcome of these coup... only time will tell... but we can hope for the best.

Same cycle - people welcome coup because of dissatisfaction with civilian government. Then they realize that the military is no better or even worse. Then they start praying for a return to democracy.
Why? Because being in military doesn't make you less corrupt or better at ruling a nation. Men will be who they are regardless of whether they wear a civilian garb or a military one.
