Nairalanders please is it fair for a mother to suspend her own daughter for fighting her staff?

My friend's mother owns a large company with lots of staff, so she recently completed her nysc program and waiting to be called up for a job so she had to put up at her mum's company as an intern and she was doing her job well to see things done.

Most of the staff do not like to take instructions from her and this has resulted to altercations with most of them, they keep reporting to her mum till a meeting was finally called.

The staff seems to have connived against her and without even bothering to hear her side of the story her mum said she knows what she can do and she won't allow her to cause problems in her company, so she immediately suspended her and ask her to leave and go home.

The staff were happy with this judgement and some made some snide remarks while she was leaving.

This thing has really troubled her recently and she's thinking maybe her mom doesn't like her as she stated that if it were her brother she won't give such judgement.

Was she wrong in trying to put things in order which resulted to most of those fights with the staff?

Was the mum right to have passed such kind of judgement before her staff ?

My friend's mom told her to go resume next week on the condition that she'll behave well but my friend told her mum she's not stepping foot in her company again.

A no nonsense woman that won't allow her children belittle her staff just because they're her children.

That's a very good decision.

The company the mum has been running well for years..so she's the one to put things right by showing i too know towards trusted staffs.. she should look for a job elsewhere or her mom should set her up with a business.All these spoilt kids. Fighting in the workplace should not be tolerated irrespective of who is at fault.
What is her role in the company? Intern you said, was dishing out instructions part of her job description?

Why will everyone be against one person? An intern for that matter oh.. are you sure this friend of yours is not one arrogant, spoilt brat with an inflated sense of entitlement because it's her mother's company? Why should they take instructions from her even? What does she know? Because she's madam's daughter?

This is a non-issue abeg. She will learn life when it's time.

Assuming the company is not her mum own. I don't think she will behave the way she is behaving (according to you try to make things better without consulting her mum first)

The mother did the right thing. Some children sometimes have this feeling of entitlement because something or a place belongs to their parent, believing in as much their parent is a boss, automatically they also become such. The mother knows the sweat and pains she had endured before reaching that height and has understand the value you get working from those at the least level to the top to keep the organisation running. Hence she's trying to instil that in her. Besides she's trying to bring her up so when she gets to the said height, she can handle people properly.

She already has a good job, just waiting for resumption
She's doing intern there but those staff will never take instructions from her which is the major cause of the fights
