So you want them to reduce it to N800...how will they earn enough money to pay workers, maintenance costs, transport costs, import new machinery, maintain new machinery, and so on and so forth?

You, if you were doing business, would you set prices very low so that the poor can breathe, or would you set the prices that will enable your business breathe?

Cheap prices is not the sign of a good economy. Businesses still have to pay staff, taxes and a host of other things?

At least, Dangote staff are being paid salaries. If they want an increase in their salaries, how would the man pay them well from cememet at N800 a bag?

There is no monopoly in the cement business

If there was monopoly, all the cement in Nigeria would be sold by Dangote. No room for any other indigenous company or imports.

To fence a property on 2 plots of land in Nigeria today with pillars, security light bulbs, painting, barbwires and gate would cost you over 2m.

20 years ago, that 2m would build you a decent 3bedroom bungalow.

If the government doesn't sit up, people would have no choice than to start living in mud houses, since it's much cheaper to build.

I build my first house, 4 bedroom bungalow; all in suite in 2011 with less than 5m

If imported cement is cheaper than cement in Nigeria despite having limestone deposit then it is better we import.

The essence of local production is reduces price and affordability.

In all these years they haven't achieved that.

Funny thing is this limestone has no tie with dollar but they always find a way to deceive gullible people that it is dollar.
