Hold on.....

Before you judge me, this post is not only for men.

It was the last bucket I was fetching this morning....

When I I heard a heavy drop inside the well.

The fetcher fell inside the well....

Obviously the rope must have been weak.

I took the ones that have already fetched and I went to take my bath.

On my mind, I was telling myself...

"Nobody saw me while I was fetching water."

So nobody is going to hold me accountable why the fetcher fell inside the well.

While I was having my bath, I asked myself.....

What is your role as a man?

Normally I could have waited for my neighbors to wake up....

Then together we would ponder on how to get the fetcher out of the well.

I asked myself....

What will you do if you're the only one staying in the compound...

Won't you find a way??

There is a woman close to my house that has a tool I can use to get the fetcher out.

But I was contemplating....

What if this woman said no?

Another voice said to me, try first.

It's better to try and get a no...

Than not making an attempt.

Luckily the woman gave me the tool.

But there is another problem....

There was no rope to attach to the tool to get the fetcher out.

I was thinking of where I could get a rope...

Then I remembered my female friends, about 2 houses away from mine, have a well.

So certainly they must have a fetcher, I assumed.

Finally I got the fetcher out from the well...

With the tool I got from the woman next to my house and the rope I borrowed from my friends.

After everything, I asked myself again....

What is the role of a man?

Then answers started coming to me that...

📌 The role of a man is to take responsibility.....

📌 To be accountable for whatever he does...

📌 To stop making excuses why something is not going to work.

📌 To find ways and possibilities of making things work.

📌 A man doesn't complain, cry and blame people.

Whether you are a man or woman reading this....

It's likely there will be events you can't control.

But in the end, you must not blame anybody or anything.

You must take responsibilities and hold yourself accountable.

I hope you learn something.

See you at the top 🫵
