Peter Obi is no doubt a good man in character. I like him for his humility and civility. The fact remains that politics is a game of numbers and a winner must emerge. Obi changed the narrative of the political landscape in Nigeria. It's rather unfortunate that he lost the 2023 Presidential election.

The PEPT judgement on his petitions against the incumbent president also affirmed that Obi actually lost the election with a distant third position. But that's not the end of the world. He needs to accept the verdict and congratulate Asiwaju. That will be a demonstration of good sportsmanship.

Obi must not proceed to the Supreme Court for redress if he wants to remain relevant in Nigeria politics. If APC had fielded Osinbajo, he would have been nowhere. He was able to garner support of Nigerians because of APC Muslim Muslim ticket.

Barely 72 hours to the presidential election, all his 36 states chairmen had told him that he cannot win the election. He lost.

If he goes to the supreme Court to seek his lost but not stolen mandate, he should expect the following:

1. He will surely lose. He has no chance of winning or reclaiming a lost mandate. He will end up wasting his time and money.

2. Labour party has welcomed the judgement of PEPT on Obi's petition. His part knew he cannot win the case. I foresee Obi leaving Labour party.

3. Obi may retire from partisan politics because he may no longer enjoy the support of Labour party. The PDP and APC may not welcome him.

4. As a result of his imminent defeat at the Supreme Court, the obidients will lose their support base especially those from the south west and North Central.

Now, let's ask ourselves this all important question, is politics a do or die affair?

I believe that Tinubu won the election fairly, though INEC failed in their own part to upload the results like they promised. But if the Supreme Court had wanted to disqualify Tinubu for the other reasons that Obi's lawyers raised such as educational qualifications or forfeiture, they'd also disqualify Obi for improper nomination, because he wasn't a legal member of the party before the elections, as required by the electoral law. Till date, a lot of Americans still believe Trump was rigged out which is also false; does it prevent Biden from carrying out his duties?? So all in all, they just played safe, because they'd have just declared Atiku as the winner, if they really wanted to follow the merit of the case.

Exactly. That's what they hate to hear. We want a precedence to be established so that there will be no doubt in anyone's mind about the fate of this nation. They can reinforce the PEPC judgment if they want, but it will bring closure to all those who still believe in constitutional democracy in Nigeria. I wonder why they're so pained PO is going to SC.

My brother don't waste your energy on Obi , he can never win any election in Nigeria again, 2027 new candidate will come up to scatter his chances, he has ridiculed INEC and Judiciary, his poitical career is over, i will rather vote for Rochas than Obi who is liar .

Let his brain dead supporters keep mourning their loss , 2027 is a different ball game entirely. He will not even be on the ballot.

Let us explain things to them gently may be they will Understand better

Ok

same way you voted for Peter Obi is the same way others voted for Tinubu and Atiku

Peter Obi failed to get 25 % in any Sharia Muslim States so that alone is already 12 States lost
plus the 5 SW States where he failed to get 25 % that is already 17 States lost where he didn't get the mandatory 25% National Spread.
We haven't yet added Kogi ,Kwara and others o !
Peter Obi lost!!

Even if you want to very stubbornly argue that the 5 SW States results were rigged and exclude them
( But in that case the APC will also argue for the SE results to be excluded too for the very same reason)

Then include only the 12 Sharia Muslim States where Peter Obi failed to get 25% and add Kwara and Kogi State too
That is already a total of 14 States,
Peter Obi could not afford to have 25% in less than 24 states without loosing

Peter Obi still lost the Elections!!!!!

First of all you have never liked Peter Obi. All your posts here have been against him and his supporters, so that first line of yours is a big falsehood.
Secondly how did you arrive to the conclusion that his supporters would leave him if he goes to supreme court when you are not one of the supporters?

I suspect that Obi's support among Yorubas has taken a serious nose-dive. This is due to his disgusting Ebow/Edo supporters and his sore-loser mentality. That means that 2027 will be a far more difficult climb for him than 2023.

This piece became illogical and incoherent when it ended with whether politics is a do or die affair. When did seeking court redress become an insignia for "do or die"? It is pathetic that Nigerians are always quick to welcome supposed injustice. Let the man Obi alone to pursue as he may deem fit. He doesn't have to win, and that's no reason to not seek redress.

For now politics is do and go to court.

Let him and Atiku go to SC so that the SC will endorse the illegality and make it a law in Nigeria. So that in the next election everyone will know that there will be no need to go to tribunal if you lose you lose.

Then our elections will be war. The surviving killer takes all.

That is when you will then know that politics is do or die.

Oga, it is his right to pursue justice to the highest court in the land. This is not about sentiments. If he loses, then he takes the final result in good fate.
Is it your money he will loose by going to the supreme court? If he decide to spend his and loose it, why then cry more than the bereaved? Afterall you were not with him when he was making the money.
We Nigerians should learn to pursue justice the right way, ie through the courts and not through other means, eg, the fellow who said the baboon and the dogs shall be drenched in blood.
Finally, let's learn to know the limits of our paygrade as Nigerians. Most of us give "advice" to those above us in all ramifications. We should rather learn to advice ourselves to have sense. Let's do things the right way.

Nigerians pray and yet collapse faster than countries that have banned religion. Stop praying for God to change your poorly selfishly selected looters called leaders to change over night. Till we realized that until we get it right in selecting our leaders Nigerians will continue to suffer and the country will not move forward. China keeps developing without praying to any God while India that have many god's are suffering just like Nigeria. Nigerians wake up. Your battle is in your hand not God. God only take care of nature occupancy others are in your hands, reduce your prayer and start acting right in chosing God leaders.
