This is a Non Sequitur Fallacy: the belief that providing a luxurious government house to the governor will attract investors does not logically follow when you see that the state is not performing well. The two ideas are not necessarily connected. A luxurious government house is only a perk, it doesn't inherently lead to investors attraction. Has the governor even calculated what the possible return on this so called investment is?

Governor Otu can argue that the large-scale luxury project will provide a temporary boost to the local economy by creating jobs and stimulating spending. However, given that Cross-River lacks local manufacturing facilities for building materials, there's a high probability that the equipment and materials for this project would be outsourced from outside the state. This means that the economic benefits might not even circulate within the state if there is such consideration.


Again, Has the governor even calculated what the possible return on this so called investment is? Of coz not, he is just dishonest with his oversimplification of how investors evaluate a State. They don’t focus on the financial health, economic stability, development plan of the state, other comprehensive policies or prospects, or strategies of the State itself rather they focus on the personal luxuries of its executives. Governor Bassey Otu is just irresponsibly prioritizing personal comfort while misusing public funds.

And yh, while I understand the desire to have an office befitting the stature of the state, I have no understanding of what exactly in this dilapidated state is being symbolized. Whether it’s the infrastructural decay in abandoned projects or what though?? Allocating such a substantial sum, especially in the face of numerous other pressing needs, raises questions about prioritization and it’s just evident that this governor is not financially prudent.

In a state with dilapidated infrastructures and a wealth of undeveloped potential, one might argue that resources could be allocated more judiciously to benefit a wider range of citizens.
But the governor want to transform the Governor's Office into a tourist attraction, befitting for elite parties.

The governor’s focus should shift towards building a state that is attractive to investors through well-planned infrastructure development, rather than channeling excessive resources into lavish government offices.

Next, Governor Otu has to have a convoy of jets because it befits his office, as appearances is what investors care about.
