Why can’t the federal government support this people. And allow them to be selling cheap fuel for us instead of this rubbish importation. Before you quote me, that I don’t go school and am supporting criminality, this is just a traditional way of solving this problem that we are. We are not USA, UK or western country

That's promotion of criminality, they should apply for licensing like any serious person and not cutting through corners, did you even bother to ask yourself where they get the crude oil from? Stop supporting an act criminality.

And as such bombing is the way to go about it. Has such treatment been meted on the illegal miners in the north ?

BUT THE SAME FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TURN THE OTHER WAY WHILE THE NORTHERN YOUTHS RAVAGED THE MINERAL MINES IN THE NORTH AND THEY MINE GOLD, ETC

The Nigeria Police have never arrested the northern youths mining gold in Zamfara state.

NOBODY SENT AIRCRAFT TO BOMBED THEIR EXTRACTION SITES.

Are they too ( the northern youths ) not criminals like you did ascribed to the local youths in the oil producing community?

Many of the parents of the youths in the oil producing community of the Niger delta region that are engaging in illegal oil refinning have youths that are Petroleum Processing Engineers both at National Diploma leve, Bsc level, Msc degree level and PHD levels.

But the Nigerian federal government will do oppressive job interviews in Lagos and Abuja and carry one BABALOLA, BABATUNDE, MOHAMMED HASSAN ETC and post them to jobs sites Warri and Port Harcourt to take the jobs of the locals.

Is that not oppressions?

You can see that we are the ones doing ourselves. If locals can refine petroleum products, why can't the government promote the creation of more modular refineries and regulate them so they can go into mass production of petroleum products instead of relying on importation?
Corruption will not allow them.

Hmmm

They know quite well the politics they are doing in niger delta, because of slavery attitude of people who claimed to be leaders of the region, importing fuel with dollars and allowing the artisanal refiners which one is cheaper, looting the resources of niger delta is their major interest

If Nigeria is running a true federalism the federal government should have no business sending war planes to bomb an oil producing community.

It is wrong.

Why not use that war planes to fight BOKO HARAM BOYS.

It is local civilian they are showing STRONG BONES for !

Oga stop talking about what you don't know, it is general knowledge that when it comes recruitment in oil companies; been from the South south is an added advantage it is no secret. Couple with various scholarships that is been handed to them to school abroad.

They also receive 13% derivative, we all know the government can do more, but don't make it sound like the government is not doing anything to them.

Comparing two different resources is just a low blow.

NAF NAF NAF, how many times did I call you ?
With all the environmental pollution in the Niger Delta, especially Rivers state, was air strike the best option to tackle this criminal menace ? How can you create multiple problems while trying to solve one problem.
Na desperation or na daftness cause am ?
Did you guys even bother to do an environmental impact assessment to know the likely damage such an action would cause to the environment and the people ?

On the flip side, how come it's only when it comes to the south that the military uses brute unguided force to crush illegal refineries, when it comes to dealing with the organized and disorganized illegal miners in the north, illegally mining gold, uranium and other solid minerals, when it comes to them, you will just hear government official become deaf mutes or when they choose to speak, they will tell you that government does not have the resources to fight it

Are you minding the guy. The shallowness of Nigerian's is alarming. The lack of critical thinking and use of logic on Nairaland and other social media by Nigerians show that many are literate but few are educated.

Crude that oil companies invested billions of dollars to get out of the ground and illegal refiners are stealing is what people are saying they should be allowed to operate because refineries are not working.

Okay, if government builds 10 refineries and all the crude coming from the ground is stolen, that what would have been the point of building those refineries? Where will the crude to get the refineries working then come from?

Funny enough they'll hoodwink the locals that an ordinary Igbo petty trader that sells medicine or groceries is the one making them poor just because he invested in the community, marry their daughter or allow their sons marry his daughter. There's nothing propaganda cannot do while those benefitting from the oil would neither marry them nor invest in their community.
