The money they are going to fund any salary increment,is from the savings on subsidy removal and fees increase,electricity bill increase and others.

We are not an industrial society, otherwise a lot of people won't have been going to university...they would have been getting jobs and apprenticeships right out of secondary school that pay them well.

To be brutally honest, a lot of people in university today don't have the mental capacity to be there! Even when I was in uni 25 years ago, there were lots of people who passed through by cheating, sorting, sleeping with lecturers, or threatening lecturers! The situation must be much worse now.

What we need is better quality primary and secondary school education.

The standards for entry into university should actually be set a bit higher.

Nowadays, universities is flooded with touts and hooligans. People with zero common sense who should be working in parks and garages. These entities have desecrated what was once a treasured graduate class.
Out of all these graduates, how many of them end up getting a job?

Nigeria should focus on technical colleges and other institutions where people can learn hard and fast skills. Look at the German education system. Not everyone there goes to universities.

What’s the essence of going to school without job being guarantee after the stressful years at the uni, nce or poly.

No big deal. What the country needs most is to set up sound technical schools. It's not compulsory that everyone must go to university. It's because university education has become for Tom, Dick and Harry that's why so many unserious students find their way in. This breeds pay and collect certificates, cultism, sex for grades etc.

The western countries that we copy, most of their nationals only attended technical schools after high school. Their universities are populated by immigrants. ASU wants universities to be well funded where government has dwindling revenue and competing interests but they don't want universities to be independent by raising their own funds.
