you see how disgusting you people are. The so called fastest growing economy in africa and you are happy telling your citizens to be buying a 1996 vehicle in 2023. Una dey try.
grin grin grin grin grin mediocre country,

In some countries people are already driving 2024 electric vehicles.. soon in the next 5 years there would be no more petrol or diesel vehicles in Europe. All the scrapped petrol/diesel vehicles will be dumped/sold in Naigeria.

We are already moving on to electric vehicles, while the mediocre so called african giant is still selling 1996 cars to her citizens. And even telling them that it is good that they would be able to afford these scraps they call cars.

How is this cheaper cars? I don't get.

APC government increased tariff on imported cars to an unreasonable amount

APC government then reduces the tariff and want us to believe that we will buy cars cheaper when dollars is over N1,000 and fuel price is N600-700 per litre

You have to be genuinely uninformed or a chronic sycophant to applaud this

These cars and prices you just mentioned, are they tokunbor?
Re: Cheaper Cars For Nigerians As Dollar Crashes To N1000 To Naira by seyiojomu(m): 6:18pm On Oct 03, 2023
No practical logic here.

That shrinking purchasing power is still the most important determinant factor to buying a car today in Nigeria, not even the exchange rate. For people to have increased and improved appetite in their luxury or necessary needs, their earning potential needs to be reviewed upwards.

Re: Cheaper Cars For Nigerians As Dollar Crashes To N1000 To Naira by Aboki99(m): 6:24pm On Oct 03, 2023
Whoever wrote this doesn't know economics.

The car importers will still need dollar to import and since they'll now have to use more Naira (1000 per $1) to get dollars, the prices of the cars will still be high. This is because the price of the imported cars (which were bought in dollars) will still be converted to naira for the consumers who'll now pay more (N1000 per each dollar instead of the N600 or so they used to pay).

This is nothing to celebrate. In fact, the car dealers are already accruing more demurrage as they've abandoned their vehicles at the port due to the floating of the exchange rate. The way out is for Tinubu to reverse to fixed exchange rate and return subsidy in full. Neoliberal economics doesn't lead any country anywhere.

I wonder.

You are very right.

The most c-class Nigeria used 2m would get you is the W203. Not the W204 C300 from 2007 to 2014.
The C300 Nigeria used is minimum of 3M in car shop.
Except for street-price you would see for 2.7M.

Yeahh. You cant get the C300 anywhere for 2M.
Op is actually reffering to Nigeria used. Notwithstanding, they can't can't Nigeria used c300 for the price.

However there are some nice second hand cars you can get for around 2M
Like Corolla (Bolt spec, 2004 model).
Camry big for nothing,
Benz w203

These Nigeria used cars at those prices are quite reliable.
