Why are some youth illiterates and senseless at the same time
Hmmmmm, you might need to learn more on marketing; promotion and advert in particular.
If you see him with weed, will you see him as promoting it or not?

ODDs of an event is simply the probability of that event occurring. The fact that Nigerians think of betting anytime someone mentions ODD is entirely their problem!

Bright Edafe should just IGNORE any Critics! πŸ™πŸ˜’

NOTHING Wrong in with what he Said or with Betting. 😏

In the UK and European countries, Football Betting is Legal and is a Means of generating Govt Revenue!.πŸ™‚

Bet Companies Advises Pple not to be Greedy and Stake small Amounts.
BUT
Unfortunately, FOOLs stake their House Rents, School Fees
And Start CRYING when they predictably Loses!. πŸ˜•πŸ˜πŸ˜’

This tweets does not in anyway to me endorses gambling infact it's an opinion he was trying to let the ones that play bet to stake on....
Those who call the tweets bad are perhaps the ones who don't like gambling and see this tweet as a sign to rant there anger here...

There's no way this man doesn't drink highly on duty. Most of his takes are irrefutably dumb.

What he posted there didn't stands for betting. He only appreciate how arsenal have improved and the best way he can do that perfectly is the odd which is how they are rated by the bookmarker. There is no way to communicate his intentions other than using the odd.

If he has vowed that and of the club will win even with those odds that is when I can say anything against him

Mewhile which crime has he committed.

Y'all are dragging this guy for nothing!

How did his tweet endorse gambling

Whoever that is close to Mr Bright Edafe should advise him to start praying against village people, because it is obvious they're looking for every possible means to nail him.

Even If he is Endorsing Betting, Nothing WRONG in it.πŸ™πŸ™‚

Betting is for Adults and Pple should STOP Demonizing it like Prostitution! πŸ˜’πŸ™

Our Nigerian Govt should Simply tax Bet companies Heavily to get more Revenue. πŸ€”

So does holding something equivalent to promoting it?

When he didn't tell people to go and smoke and he didn't tell people to go and place any bet,

He is a human and he will definitely be supporting a club,
Supporting his club doesn't equivalent to him promoting gambling.

Gambling has been existing even before your forefathers were born. Gambling and prostitution are the oldest trade, it has nothing to do with with the White of the Black race.

Delta state Police PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe under fire after his Sportybet prediction of Arsenal beating City today.
People were particularly displeased that someone of his social standing would overtly or covertly endorse gambling.

Below is his tweet and the reactions it elicited.

people are being frustrated, The man did nothing wrong, the gambling industry in Nigeria is licenced and pay tax. He was not caught gambling he only made a statement, how's this wrong? The betting houses are legitimate business in Nigeria most of them even backed by high street banks.

Which is right, there is nowhere in the constitution of Nigeria where indecent dressing is an offence, So please who is the moral judge of what is termed indecent dressing? No one.

Honestly!
I don't see anything gambling related in his post. It is more of a fan praising his club with a pictorial backup

Nigerians are always too emotional abeg. Is his tweet the problem of Nigeria? Is gambling a bigger crime than election rigging, embezzlement of funds meant for the generality of the populace, stealing or murder? It's hypocricy to come to the social media to condemn what u do offline. I knw most of the pple condemning that man online are the same pple praising looters we call politicians. Most of them may have praised the university of Benin prof that once won 59 mill. They love the glory but hate the process that led to the glory. Betting that creates more employment than their 3 tiers of government is what the hypocrites are condeming.

People chose to give his tweet a bad narrative. From the context of his tweet, he was praising how far arteta has improved arsenal FC, and the yardstick he used was the odd(2.99) which is so close to city's (2.5) because in past seasons, the odd difference is always wide. Make people dey chill abeg.

In this manner, yes it is.
Would same have been justified if you were seen posting a picture of a riffle.
Do you know how many that will try to check out the site just because he posted it?
If influencing isn't profitable, we won't have influencers.
We have ethics and we have law, that posting might not be legally wrong, but it is ethically.
If the President of the Nation posted same, would we have the same view?
As a police officer, should he be seen to be promoting gambling under any guise?
Alcohol consumption isn't illegal, but there is a reason uniform personnel are not allowed to consume it while on duty.
If the dude is an unknown police officer, that is, not a ranking officer or their image make, the action won't attract weight.
Despite cigarette and alcohol consumption not having legal implications on consumption, how many times have you seen senior cabinet members branding one to the full glare of everyone.
What he did isn't legally wrong, but it is in all sense ethically wrong
