This was what Igbos tried for years to enlighten people in the Niger Delta about benefiting from their God given resources, but Lagos Ibadan media rather turned it around and spread the propaganda that Igbos were after the resources which Igbo land is also richly blessed with.
Even under a Yoruba led govt, we can see that the injustices against the Niger Delta continues because these contracts would not have been awarded without presidential approval as Tinubu is the Minister of Petroleum.
Over 35 people were burnt to death in a makeshift refinery in Rivers State and another hundred burnt beyond recognition after a petrol tanker fell due to bad roads.
Then some few northern business men will sign multi billion contracts to maintain pipelines some of which doesn't even generate revenue while the Airforce will be dropping bombs on people working on makeshift refineries and adding to the environmental pollution in the process.

Na lie

Ibos are also greedy people eyeing Niger Delta oil, since their region is barren.

Leave Niger Delta alone to fight for their right.

The government of Nigeria has been acquiring military aircrafts waiting for any of you creek dwellers to do phiam. Fulani-led military are willing to pound you and your creek dwelling out of the surface of the earth in their usual Jihad-like war. They have been addicted to cheap cash from crude oil.

They are right. There is too much Northern domination in contracts awarded by the FG.

All the juicy contracts are mostly awarded to people of Northern extraction, which they eventually did haphazardly, or even left undone.

Maybe Tinubu government will correct this lopsidedness.

After siphoning Billions of dollars from Petroleum subsidy for years another avenue has been created for the Northern elites to keep siphoning the Niger Delta resources while illegal mining continues unabated in many Northern states to a point that Emefiele a son of Niger Delta was forced to buy Zamfara gold on behalf of Federal Government as CBN governor

What happens to all the Niger Delta indigenous companies? No northern company would be allowed to carry out routine maintenance on pipelines located in our territory,” the coalition said in the statement.

That's how it should be. I thought you guys have gone to sleep. Nice to know you are still awake.

When I read that the pipeline maintenance contract were awarded to four companies (two of the companies owned by Northerners, one owned by a Yoruba man and one by igbo and no indigenous south-south Niger Delta company was included in the contract I was wondering if the militants and ex-militants in the region are still alive.

You see this country eh, if you don't wake up and fight for your right especially if you are a minority tribe you are on a lonnnggg thing

And you are sure the person you are quoting is IGBO? How did you know that? BTW, IGBOS have oil too, and BTW again, there is nothing like our region or your region here, what we have here is nigerian region, the northerners are also nigerians who ate entitled to anything as much as you or any other nigerian company is entitled to them, anyone who gets them is BETTER positioned to get them and the northerners are, so I think everyone should live with it and stop threatening or insulting anyone anyone. Why should this turn to IGBO trolling again? Was it the IGBO who awarded the contract to northerners, as long as you lot will insult IGBO everytime to please your Lords, this attitude will continue, all of you will leave the issue here and start facing the IGBOS, that's what they want you to do but does the IGBO even care?
