The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it plans to go ahead with the October 14 campaign launch for the November 11 Bayelsa governorship election, in spite of the disqualification of its candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva.

.ng earlier reported that Justice Donatus Okorowo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, in a judgement delivered on Monday, disqualified Sylva from featuring in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls.

Okorowo ruled that Sylva, having been sworn in twice and ruled for five years as governor of Bayelsa, would breach the 1999 Constitution as amended if allowed to contest again.

But APC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said Sylva remains the party’s candidate.

“We wish to state categorically that Chief Timipre Sylva is and remains the Bayelsa governorship candidate of our great party in the Nov. 11, 2023, governorship election.

“Our party and its candidate have duly instructed the legal team to appeal the said decision of the Federal High Court diligently and expeditiously.

“We urge our teeming members, supporters, and residents of Bayelsa to remain calm and await the outcome of the appeal, and we remain confident that we shall prevail,” he said.

Morka said that with nothing to offer the Bayelsa electorate, after its poor performance as the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had since resorted to mercenary lawsuits.

He added that the PDP had also resorted to underhand dealings and antics to distract and create confusion among the people of the state.

It's a good thing this is a pre-election matter correctly filed before the election. APC usual wuruwuru is to use technicalities to say this is a pre election matter and statue barred after rigging their candidates into office

Okkk..

HOW TO CONTROL AND CHECKMATE THE INEC’S IMPUNITY, RECKLESSNESS, AND CRIMINALITY IN A MANUALLY COLLATED ELECTION SCENARIO.

1. Causing the voters and the party agents to snap real photos of the INEC’s original top-copy of the Polling Unit Results, and sending the photos back to the party SITUATION ROOM for the Party’s independent collation.....
(Since experience had shown that the duplicate copies that were handed to the other parties are not clear enough, and had been denied as evidence at the tribunal on one or two occasions for not being clear enough).

2. Having the Party Agents FULLY PRESENT at ALL THE COLLATION CENTERS.. and snapping real photos of the INEC’s original top-copy of ALL the Collated Results in all the Collation Centers, EVEN IF THEY CHEATED,, SNAP THE PHOTOS LIKE THAT..
(Since experience had shown that the general public are not allowed to enter into the collation centers except only the accredited INEC staff, Party agents, media, observers, and security personnel).

3. If there are situations where the accredited party agents were not allowed to enter into ANY of the Collation Centers,, they should RECORD VIDEOS of the incident, indicating the location, date and time while recording the video.
(This would be the best evidence to show that the parties were blocked off from the Collation Exercise.)

4. The Various Photos and videos of the INEC’s Collated Results at the various levels and centers of collation are Actually More Important than Those of the Polling Units, because these are the points the Manipulations can be tracked.

I WISH ALL THE PARTICIPATING PARTIES GOOD-LUCK, ANY LAZINESS OR DULLING IS VERY DISASTROUS.

APC just don't want to contest. Must it be Sylva?

Rivers State's APC then had problems in 2019 and finally at the last minute decided to support the ADC candidate. Maybe that's what will happen in Bayelsa. They may finally support another party

So you mean that he will now be the longest serving governor in Nigeria.

He will never become the governor of Bayelsa State he failed Niger Deltans as petroleum Minister.
