The relationship between Agbor, Ika and Benin is that of conqueror and freedom from conquerors. Agbor and Ika in general are ancient Igbo settlements that existed as old as when Benin was founded as a Kingdom and later as an empire that ruled them at one time or the other but they always matched Bini fire for fire. Chima as the name indicates was an Igbo man in Benin empire which is not disputable. If you understand Ika language then you can listen to this loud declaration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM_6uWo54Zs?si=tPCFSqhpwZo4xWE0 |

Bendeco2020:Eze Chima is an Igbo man that travelled, probably born outside Igboland but when Idu/Ogodomigodo was destroyed, he returned Eastwards and his offsprings settled and found several Igbo clans (that Benin/Idu/Ogodomigodo Empire) calls theirs. Truth is, Igbos in Maiduguri can never be Kanuri whenever they return to Igboland, Eze Chima will forever remain Igbo irrespective of his sojourns and exploits with other tribes. |

spearman: There's no root to know as his name, language and culture already indicates his ethnicity. He is Ndokwa and Ndokwa is Igbo. Some Ndokwa prefer being just Ndokwa, Ukwuani or Ndioshimili but in general all are pure Igbos with ancient history. 1 Like |

cassyrooy: Igboland reached Benin so he was a native of wherever he lived. Chima was from Igbo territory under Benin rule at the time . Many Igbos in the East migrated from the West and many in the West migrated from the East but Anioma and Southeast were always occupied by Igbos since thousands of years ago. Many might find it difficult to comprehend but the reality is that Igboland on the West of River Niger at a time came under Benin rule and were forced to pay tributes to Oba of Benin even though they were clearly distinguishable from the Edo tribes. This made many Igbos migrate from West to East and as far as possible from the Oba's problems. You can read the story of Olaudah Equiano to understand what transpired then. 1 Like 1 Share |

spearman: Cannibalism never existed in all of Igboland. This information was based on what the riverine people told the Europeans to prevent them from taking over their trade from Igboland. For example Igbos in the West believed Benin was eating people and Igbos in the East believed Ibibio and Ijaw were eating people. 2 Likes |

Abagworo:Abagworo thanks for reinforcing the knowledge of Igboland and letting some tribalistic cretins know what Igboland entails. There's Western Igboland which covers Anioma and Igbanke/Igbo-Akiri and Southern Igboland which covers parts of Bayelsa, Rivers (Ekpeye, Ikwerre, Bonny and Opobo, Ndoki, Obigbo, Ahaoda etc). We still have a fringe Eastern and Northern Igboland that lies in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Kogi and Benue. They'll argue all they want but they'll end up saying rubbish because a Chima isn't Benin but Igbo, even in conquest or migration. 1 Like |

Abagworo: Eze Chima was a chief priest born in Aro in present day South East who paid homage to the Oba of Benin (just as others from various parts of the Country and beyond do up till this day). He was even gifted lands by the Oba. Eventually, had to exit after an issue with the Oba and Edos, and ultimately settled around where Agbor is. Just a brief summary. Igbo land did not and has never reached Benin. Maybe migrants and settlers such as Eze Chima. 2 Likes |

Neckpresser101:1. Greenland is not on the map 2. USA is not on the map and didn't even exist when the map was made. 3. You saw a map from the 18th century on which a region is referred to as "negroland" and you think the logical thing is to ask where that place is, even though you literally saw it on a map ? 4. Perhaps you are a little bit confused, that region of Africa which was referred to as "negroland" by Europeans in the 18th century is no longer referred to as "negroland". We are no longer in the 18th century, things change over time. 5. I shouldn't have to come and provide explanations while I literally gave an eyewitnesses written document which your own sense should have allowed you to analyse. But since you are the usual tribal bigot, your brain stops working at times and you require tutoring. But, try and be more respectful when you need intellectual help from people whom are smarter than you. 6. Stop arguing over everything which doesn't fit your dogma or on which your academic level is too small for you to understand. I've just given you a free lecture, and that annoys me, instead of being paid, I'm being insulted by an uneducated tribal bigot. 2 Likes |

Neckpresser101: Answer: Stoplying: Neckpresser101:In the 18th century, Cameroon didn't exist yet, below is a map of Africa from the 18th century drawn by Emanuel Bowen (a famous map maker of that era) Neckpresser101:In the 18th century ojuku didn't exist yet, so the Republic of Biafra had not yet been declared, rather what we have is a region which the Europeans referred to as Biafra. Don't quote me again, you need to work your brain more and stop disturbing me. You seem incapable of dealing with hard facts when they go against your previously unsubstantiated beliefs. Benin was a very large Kingdom, contrary to what you think, Benin city which was earlier referred to as Edda, is only the capital of Benin kingdom. 1 Like

Neckpresser101:1.Benin kingdom reached as far as the map produced by eye-witnesses says it reached. 2. In the 18th century, they didn't have time travel machines, so they couldn't predict that I would be having this conversation with an uneducated tribal bigot who can't accept facts, also they couldn't see that one day, the name Biafra would be associated to a region of future Nigeria and a civil war, they didn't know that some people will not be able to understand that eyewitness written documents don't account for future events. 3. Neckpresser101:now your stupidity is bordering on mental illness , I'm literally showing you a map from the 18th century on which Biafara is written, yet you are saying that I claimed that Biafra is a name created in 1967...(do I even need to ask you where I am supposed to have made that claim ?) 4.
