BREAKING: Senators Ignore Akpabio, kicks off Retreat Without Host

The 2-day retreat organized by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has commenced without the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

The event started on a controversial note when lawmakers complained of abandonment and neglect by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

attending the 2-day retreat for members of the 10th Senate in Ikot Ekpene, the hometown of President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio were stranded for hours without accommodation on arrival.

The contingent from Abuja had arrived Uyo at about 7:45 pm on Wednesday after which the senators and others with them embarked on roughly another one hour drive out of Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom to Ikot-Ekpene.

But upon their arrival, the rooms available were not enough rooms at the Four Points hotel to take everyone in.

Organizers of the retreat, the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS were in total disarray trying to clean up the mess of keeping Senators waiting endlessly at the hotel lobby.

NILDS had made accommodation arrangements for only the Senators, and about 12 resource persons at FourPoints hotel , which is also venue of the retreat.

It however did not take time for tempers to start rising between some NILDS officials and some aides especially those from the Office of the President of the Senate about the sloppy handling of the entire trip starting with the flight from Abuja.

The aides were displeased with arrangement by the Democratic Institute that brought them to Ikot Ekpene without rooms for them in the same hotel with their principals.

The situation was worse for the journalists who were invited by the Office of the President of the Senate to join in the trip to Akwa Ibom for the coverage of the retreat.

Many of them were seen stranded on the couch in the hotel lobby for the night.

Akpabio is a thief, I have always said it that making Akpabio the Senate president is like making the notorious Aninie an SP someone that never won any primaries in his state.

Liars everywhere! There are big hotels in Akwa ibom to accomodate over 10 thousand people. So why this wailing?

What Akpabio did is commendable. Each Senator should sleep with his aids in same room and bed, their bodies are not fire and gunpowder that should not touch. By so doing, they will save us some money.
Secondly, Akpabio was in the news for sharing money last time. During that time, no Senator complained, and we didn't hear them whine. Now, they are disturbing us with their noises just because they were asked to sleep in one room for a mare two days retreat. Don't they know that some people sleep under the bridges?

What are the usefulness of all these thieving senators and house of representatives thou? Most of them do nothing for their states but just eat waton. Their money should be the least as a matter of fact. In fact, those in political positions aren't better than the people.. they're called there to serve, not to eat waton over the people!

Let's get this fact straight and correct.
1. Ikot Ekpene is not the home town of the Senate President ( Senator Akpabio).
2. Akpabio is from Ikot Ntuen in Essien-Udim L. G. A.
3. Ikot Ekpene and Essien-Udim, are two separate LGA and as such Senator could not possibly come from Ikot Ekpene, which according to the writer, is Akpabio's home town.
