moreover the government should muster the political will to allow the security agencies to do their job without fear or favor, not giving amnesty and rehabilitation to the presumed repentant terrorists and criminals , thereby encouraging the criminals and discouraging the security agencies in the field , who risk their lives everyday to checkmate the nefarious activities of these terrorists and criminals.

What should be done is to allow registered security outfits like vigilantes to bear sophisticated arms too, with regulation from the police.

Meanwhile, ordinary citizens, vetted tax payers with no criminal record, and who have a stable income should be allowed to own lesser firearms like shotguns and handguns for self defense.

In Israel for example, it was armed citizens who formed the initial response to the hamas incursion.
