This can only be possible if these current corrupt nigerian politicians in govt are removed they will never agree to sign any bill that will make them vulnerable.

Can INEC chairman do the work alone? Politicians are the ones that are corrupting the institutions and one the outcome does not favor them, they resort to blackmail.

Pls park.
You didn't shout this to buhari or the current INEC chairman.

Continue your hibernation.

I still prefer PO but PBAT is clipping the wings of the North politically.

If not for corruption and economy.
I would have said let him continue

No matter how perfect the electoral act maybe, and no matter who is the appointing authority of the INEC chairman, the more there's pervasive corruption in our polity where people who are elected to public office engaged in brazen act of corruption with no consequences, we will not have a decent election. No matter how INEC prepares, politicians will find a way round to rig elections. Even if they lose fair and square, they will still challenge the results at the tribunal because they believe they can bribe their way through to get the result upturned by the panel. Almost all the election results declared by INEC in the last general elections are being contested in the election petition tribunals. No body agrees he/she lost, the maxim is "if you can't get it through the elections, you can get it through the courts". The end do justify the means

Such a wise great man. Nigeria is so blessed.
I will gladly vote this man for president if he vies for the position.
His conduct and wisdom in handling and diffusing Orubebe's show of shame still resounds in my mind till date.

I totally agree with all he has said. And hopefully the necessary bodies will take this into consideration against the next election season.

Electronic transmission is vulnerable to hacking and manipulation. Kenya election was a mess of an example, US was not exempted from the allegation of Russian hackers. And for INEC Chairman, no time for story, Jagaban go appoint e own man after Mahmood.

If you look at the system if anyone told you that it's subject to hacking it's just a lie. You can't manipulate it because the result is not a digital or a numerical system. You simply snap the result sheet and upload. What is hackable about that. What you have is more of a picture like a picture in your phone that you snapped.

Guilty conscience, thief !
people like you are fools. This man has been in the system and he knows where and what is the problem of INEC.
Illiterate like you will come online to say rubbish without knowing what he said. Let me educate you Small: Jega said people like you should be allowed to approach the court if they know that the man that is campaigning is a criminal. In Nigeria today you cannot complain to the court about anything wrong in the election if you did not participate as a candidate.
Jega also said they should make electoral transmission of results from the polling unit mandatory so that your vote will be count.
Mr man, pls what is wrong in doing the right thing as Jega said?

This is a sure plan to oust Tinubu from office. Only 3months gone and the north are already getting tired of him. Meanwhile This fool is the same person that rigged GEj out of power in 2015 to usher in the calamity called Buhari. grin

why are they using electronic in CBN? Can you prove to us that CBN has been hacked before? Even if tinubu becomes president for hundred years, you will still remain poor as you are.
Someone is talking about accountability and transparency and you are talking rubbish.
Who cares about Tinubu? We are talking about the future of this country.
I believe I am closer to tinubu than you fool. What I want is for Nigeria to work.

Rubbish. The president doesn't 'appoint' the Chief Justice, but he controls him. The president doesn't 'appoint' the Senate President, but he controls him.

All these muke muke suggestions indicate either stupidity or mischief. None of these things would ever work.

We need to DISMANTLE the fucking constitution and start from the scratch. Either disintegrate the fucking country or at the very least, restructure it into a confederal/regional arrangement where the heads of each region are stronger than the so-called president. Let every region have their own INEC, their own CBN, their own police, their own EFCC, and so forth. That way, ojoro cancel. Enough of tribalistic Presidents making their ethnic group feel special.
mention one senate president that was not nominated by the president aside from Saraki?
Secondly, I don't know how old are you, but go and find out CJN is appointed by the president.

You made some solid points but I would love to modify it a bit.

How about we reconfigure this country this way

1. First pass a bill to suspend the constitution and give room for "people's constitution"

2. Scrap states and divide the country into 6 to 10 federating units called provinces.
Each province will have their own police, their own laws and their own rules, for you to move from one province to another you would require a permit to do so.
Each province will be administered by a primier or provincial governor or which ever name we call them.
Each province will have their own independent police structure, but this police doesn't use automatic fire rifles only shot gun and Barton's,
Their police structure will be made up purely of agents or detectives but no province will be allowed to have a SWAT team.
Each province will be able to fix their own minimum wages, manage all their schools and the FG will hands off completely on schools.
The fg will only have 6 to 10 federal universities with one in each province.

3. Scrap the position of the president and replace it with a name like Chancellor or any other nice ceremonial name, now the chancellor or which ever name we give it will be the symbol of the unity of the confederation.
The Chancellor shall be elected by a popular vote to serve a single term of 12 years, and he will be none partisan and also to qualify to be a chancellor, you must have serve in active service to the country a minimum of 20 years, and you must not have held any political appointment or had any political affiliations at least 15 years before election.

Candidates vying for this position will do so as independent candidates.

4. Each province will have not more than 20 representative, which will be a total of not more than 200 representative.
Now these representative will be referred as members of parliament and from amongst them a prime minister would be elected whose duty is to the act as the CEO of the country while the chancellor acts as the chairman of the board of the country.

In the event of massive uprising or a revolt against government policies, the chancellor is duty bound to dissolve the parliament and conduct a fresh election.

5. The INEC chairman, the attorney general of the federation, the cjn will not be appointment of the president.
a. The Attorney general of the federation will be contested by very senior and prominent legal experts and the body who would over see this is the NJC,
b. The attorney general would be required by law to fill the vacancy of the INEC chairman if vacant by first putting out advert for the position and clearly writing the NASS to begin screening of candidates whose scores and criterion of appointment will be made public.
c. The cjn shall be appointed based on hierarchy as it is currently.

6. There will be a nation council which shall be made up of the chancellor, with the cjn, the attorney general, the INEC chairman and representative from all professional organisations which shall be meet three times yearly to access the performance of the government and give recommendations to the chancellor who either passes a vote of confidence or vote of no confidence.

7. There will be no more federal allocation rather all province's must manage their resources and pay 30 to 50% of all revenue as royalty to the federal government which it uses to maintain the currency, manage the Military and defense.

The federal government will focus clearly on foreign policies and the prime minister will automatically be the minister of defense, while the deputy prime minister will also coordinate the ministry of internal affairs.

So much more but basically, we must jettisoned this 1999 unitary dictatorship document and produce a people's constitution.

Please let's join hands and begin to push for this
