It is exactly things like this that have a country with such great potential be in the state it is now - public officials selling the country for a few dollars of personal gain!

A foreigner reading your post would think these "public officials" are aliens not Nigerians and we the citizens are good upright people. Our problem are not public officials our problems are us. We are the ones who become public officials. It's not public officials that steall manhole covers, highway railings, railways tracks etc, its people like you and I.

The other day I asked a LASTMA operative why he wasnt stoping the busdrivers that were blatantly driving against traffic, he told me they beat them up...as in the bus drivers beat the lastma officials if they (LASTMA) try to apprehend them.

The truth is that a lot of Nigerians are exactly like the greedy officials that sold out the country for peanuts to P&ID. Corruption know no politicial parry, religion or ethnicity. It is simply endemic among Nigerians. This very sad case happened under Yar'adua/Jonathan. Today, these two former leaders are praised as saints. If not for the effort of Buhari and Malami in particular, this scam against Nigeria would have been successful as the Jonathan administration was already discussing payment terms before Buhari took over.

I agree, you see some telling you to take freestuffz in their signature as if anything in life is free. All scammers . Instead of encouraging a culture of hardwork, they want people to believe in freestuffz .

Thieves and criminals who look like hungry kidnappers .

Where is the hope that we are hoping for?

Everyday, we see reasons not to believe in the survival of this country.
If top officials in government can not be trusted to uphold the honesty and sincerity of the TRUST that we have reposed on them, what should we expect from the foot soldiers in the down the lower cadre of the government.

This is highly terrible!

In fact, the kind of bashing Buhari, Tinubu and APC would have gotten if Nigeria had lost the case would have been deafening. Atiku, Obi, Rufai and other haters of Nigeria would have been falling on each other in a struggle to see who can come up with the most asinine statement against the APC government. Today, they are all quiet and pretending like nothing significant was achieved.

Nigeria shall continue to win over all her enemies.
Sadly, you are one of such Nigerians.

Who were the two lawyers Nigeria paid to defend it who took bribe sold the country?
These people must be fished out, jailed, debarred and there properties must be seized. This type of fraud has been going on for many years even at state level. That was how Nigerian airways was closed when many of their planes were seized for fraudulent contracts designed to fail in order to make a claim against the country.

So the Nigerian defendants claimed to have received some bribes and benefits for the deal to be carried out? Like they agreed that there was corruption in the deal so they can be exempt from paying the money to the oil company? What a shame..

All the civil servant and politicians involved should be brought to book.

If nothing is done about this, then it means we are not serious as a country.

This is indeed,a national disgrace, that is how we would have gone again to borrow 11b Dollars to pay some thief's and our official will calmly go there to collect their shares.

Who curse this country called Nigeria.

Most of this kind of fraud are perpetrated against a lot of African countries by whites who are primarily either English, Irish, Israel, Italian or Greek.

But always possible only in collusion with local actors.

Those greedy and corrupt officials, what did they do to them? Are they in jail now? If these two questions cannot be answered in affirmation, it means it will take divine intervention for our rulers to do what is right and have love of their nation at heart when taken decisions that affect all citizens.

Funny enough countries that are genuinely secular are more honest whilst our religious zealots loot at home to go and enjoy in the same countries they rant at home against.

My brother I would have loved to ask them but Nigerians worship them and call them honourables, especially their kinsmen. There will never be accountability in Nigeria because of tribalism, among other things. Please let me blame the devil in peace because I don’t think he has people who claim him as kin in naija.
