I like the shape Nigerian pentecostal movement, and even the western pentecostal movement has turned into. Like Dr. Tai Solarin said, " Christianity has its time to finally extinguish itself". While I do not believe that Christianity will become extinct, but the simple truth about Christianity will finally be pursued by ppl disgusted with how the religion has been turned into a mockery. Most ppl don't know that at the heights of her power, the Catholic church had spiritual and economic power over Europe: pope's could determine who would rule a country, they could instigate wars and conflicts for their own personal interests. But see the Catholic church now, it has lost that political power ; though it may have some few economic powers left. Sane will eventually be the fate of the pentecostal movement in Nigeria. Their spell may finally be lifted from the eyes of the poor congregants. |
