             LOVE
What makes the world go round?
Defying all scientific findings,
Beating the wise of all ages,
Arresting all human minds,
Asking no why?
       Love

What flows in its natural language?
Making black look white?
Infecting with cosmic magnetism?
Respecting no status, age and color
Making all wrongs right
       Love

What spread mysterious feelings?
Solidifying peace and unity
Melting all stone heart
Beating all imaginations
Being blind to all flaws and mistakes
       Love

What caused the Calvary sacrifice?
Reigning everlastingly
Fathering all emotions
Directing human judgment
Mixing all races and tribe
      Love

I WILL KEEP THEM AT BAY

I will keep them at bay
Lest my days be numbered
My battery loose charges
My stay here laden with regrets

I will keep them at bay
Beings lions in the waist
Chicken in the head
Man’s best friend and foe

I will keep at bay
Not to go the way of Adam
First father and wonderer
Cloth of glory stripped

I will keep them at bay
You Grace! Keep the nerves in check
Oh! God, quench the fire in the eyes
You Bible, keep my mind above

I will keep them at bay
To grab the everlasting
Live with infinity
Dine with the king of kings

WHY SHOULD MY HEART NOT BOIL

Why should my heart not boil?
Selection begetting the seat of power.
Courts injunctions,
mere tombo talk.
Elective posts predetermined
Appointments,
stooges acting a script

Why should my heart not boil?
Steady electricity, utopian dreams,
Oil boom, economic doom
More strikes more hikes
More advisers, more misdeeds

Why should my heart not boil?
Meritocrats forsaken,
lootocrats celebrated
Felony now party affairs
Opposition thrown to the dogs
Dews of tears flooding the land

Why should my heart not boil?
Messiahs at far lands, foe at home
Rule of law only in the book
Hyper corruption at high places
The impunity of horrors more deadly

Why should my heart not boil?
Unemployment mounting to the peaks
Real leaders out of the system
Mere mediocre on the stage
Custodians of law now breakers

Why should my heart not boil?
Hospitals mere clinics
Airport mere motor parks
Boarders over perforated
Roads death traps

Why should my heart not boil?
It’s twenty naira or your life
Rich in oil, top in penury
Most religious, most corrupt
Certificates piece of garbage
