COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF PDP GOVERNORS’ FORUM HELD IN ABUJA ON TUESDAY, 31ST OCTOBER, 2023.

The PDP Governors’ Forum held a meeting under the leadership of H.E Governor Bala Mohammed, CON, at the Oyo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday, 31st October, 2023.

2. The Forum deliberated on issues of concern to the Forum, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the nation and reached the following conclusions:

i. The meeting noted the recent judgement of the Supreme Court on the 2023 Presidential Election and believes that this brings an end to the Presidential election cycle as there must be an end to litigation. As a Forum, we believe and re-state our faith and confidence in the judiciary to do justice in political and other cases before the Courts. We are concerned that while the Supreme Court has laid down precedents on pre-election issues, PDP candidates in Plateau State are being disqualified on the same grounds. We urge the judiciary at the apex level to ensure that our jurisprudence is not distorted. We remain vigilant in the struggle for democracy and good governance in the country.

ii. The meeting vowed to reposition and strengthen PDP as a viable opposition political party ready and willing to play its role as the vanguard of the Nigerian people for democracy, good governance and accountability.

iii. The PDP Governors were alarmed at the recent developments in Rivers State and welcomes the intervention of Mr. President to bring the crises to an end. The meeting urged all parties to the Rivers State crises to sheath their sword and resort to peaceful means of resolution. The Forum further offers its platform for a quick and just containment of the issues involved.

iv. On the national economy, the meeting urgently requested the patriotic intervention of the Federal Government to stabilize the Naira, control inflation, stem the unemployment crises, and bring more succour to Nigerians.

The claimant to winning the presidency Atiku Abubakar kept mute since crisis engulfed PDP in Rivers State. Atiku always misses simple opportunities to demonstrate political leadership. He should have waded in and even pretended to be forming activities at reconciliation. At the minimum, even issue a statement calling on the party to set up a reconciliation committee to address the crisis.

Even if it yields nothing because of the recalcitrance of Wike, it would show that Atiku has the interest of the party at heart and make people trust him. By allowing Tinubu of APC settle a rift within PDP, Atiku has allowed Tinubu score a MAJOR political point against him in PDP.

This is why Tinubu is ahead in the game and Atiku is playing catch up...

We expected Atiku to hit the ground running in reforming the party and reconciling members after Atiku's press conference, but he hit the ground and sat down.

Wrong!

PBAT is a true leader.. Fubara went to Aso Villa and was all over the place smiling meaning they were able to reach a compromise for peace to reign in Rivers State.
The only people that have refused to align with the government of the day are the Obidients, hate is a very bad thing.

Atiku just a political mistake, I don't even know who carry him come politics.

Atiku is not a grassroot politician check his score cards in the North East.
He is too selfish, greedy and too shallow, to command respect.
He believes in buying the big boys and leaving the foot soldiers at their mercy.
If you know how much of Atiku's money was pocketed by Bode George in Lagos, and still PDP keeps performing woefully in Lagos and na normal customer dada ni level o, every election period, na Bode George go still run am and Bleep em.
Sometimes I even wondered if the baba is not working in cahoot with Jagaban, politics is not a straight forward game. why I trust non of them.
Until Bode George is kept out of Lagos PDP, no show for PDP in Lagos.
I'm sure same thing is happening elsewhere, Atiku keeps spending the big money and big boys are pocketing the money.

They do not even recognise Atiku as anything besides a desperate Cameroonian who lives in Dubai and comes to Nigeria every 4years to spend his money on presidential elections.

Atiku too does not even care about happenings in the party that does not concern his own election.
