The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that its Ibadan zonal office has secured the conviction and sentencing of 41 internet fraudsters to various jail terms in Oyo and Ogun states.

EFCC noted that the convicts were jailed after pleading guilty to the one-count charge preferred against them.

The convicts, according to the commission, were convicted before justices Ladiran Akintola and Adebukola Olajide of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Others were convicted before justices Abiodun Akinyemi, A.A. Babawale, and B.B. Adebowale of the Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta, and Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, Oyo State.

EFCC made these revelations via a statement signed by its Head of Media and Publicity Dele Oyewale. The commission added that all 41 convicts were arrested by operatives for internet-related offences.

Among the convicts are Siyanbade Timilehin Omobosola, Ilugbo Emmanuel Adekunle, Odude Ayomide Michael, Aderounmu Gbenga Michael, Oluwole David Dare, Habeeblahi Abdullateef Akande, Ololade Sunday Olamide, Ibrahim Victor Abayomi, Adewusi Mojeed Adedeji, Afeez Lekan Jimoh, Peter Seyi Iyanuoluwa, Olatunde Abass, Alan-Oni Joseph Opeyemi, Adetunji Abolaji Adeola, and Ogunmola Oluwabori Michael.

FTC dedicated to nigerian youths still earning a living legitimately
Going by the ways and glaring reckless corrupt practices of the present political leaders it's obvious many young people won't see anything wrong indulging in crime related acts to survival.
Sadly unfortunate.

It's a blessing to be legit.
Time has a way of justifying all.

The problem of some young people is that we would rather go clubbing and sightseeing than visiting hospitals and prisons.

The day you visit a prison (not a police cell) and see how Nigeria intentionally wastes its young people, you will think twice before you commit a crime. Stay off crime - don't let Nigeria happen to you.

The law is not yet ready to deal with cyber crime

Those convicted will probably get max of 6 months or fine of less than 500k

While the big politician thieves are left to roam about

Hypocrites!!!
EFCC should go after politicians stealing money too. Your job description is not to run after Yahoo boys. Go after sitting governors and senators stealing with their full chest.

Not witch hunting yahoo boys and public office holders who fell off the table of grace with the ruling party.

It's a blessing to be legit.
Time has a way of revealing and justifying things.

This is good news.
When evil is left unpunished, it festers till it becomes normal. I hope more or our leaders/politicians also get their due jail term.

Hopefully with more cases like this, our youths will begin to see that rhere is dishonor in fraud and lawless living. And ehile is provides some initial financial freedom, it's however destructive to others and does not end well.

Hopefully they will start seeing more legit people who are living responsible and comfortable lives and raising good families.

When it comes to internet fraud and skull-mining, leave it to my yoruba brethren
When it comes to drug pushing, leave it to my Igbo brothers
When it comes to Allahu Ak-BOOM!!, leave it to my northern brethren

I'd rather run into a drug pusher than a skull miner or suicide bomber though undecided
