1. Practice Breathing

Though babies don’t breathe in the womb, they practice the motions of breathing. In the later stages of pregnancy, unborn babies engage in simulated breathing movements, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid. This practice prepares their respiratory system for the moment they take their first breath upon entering the world.

2. Movement and Activity

Contrary to popular belief, unborn babies are not motionless. In fact, they are quite active. By the end of the first trimester, a developing fetus can kick, stretch, and even respond to external stimuli. These early movements, often perceived as gentle flutters by the mother, signify the baby’s developing muscles and nervous system.
