Nigeria is neither a country or a company. It's an experiment.

Not just an experiment but one that is being carried out without a laid down procedure.
Its more like an experiment not taken serious, the end result doesn't even matter to the experimenters.

A company is well organized, even if its making losses.A company knows the number of staff it has and even how its going to wind-up.Nigeria is just a like a game of chess, where the Knights,Bishop,Queen etc are protecting the greedy king while the masses are the pawns that can be toyed with at anytime.

Yeah, our beloved country unfortunately is even more of a private limited coy than a public liability coy. We might think we're just joking but the unfortunate and the untold truth is that Nigerians encourages any sitting president to run the affairs of the company -oh sorry, country as 'note not like' but as a private property.

Coming to petroleum, there is no oil subsidy. Oil subsidy in Nigeria is fiction, it doesn’t exist and it is a fraud. During Buhari’s time, we had three refineries. When necessary, I mean, whenever there was shortage of oil, we embarked on offshore processing. If at a time, the production of oil couldn’t satisfy our needs, we selected oil companies like Shell and others that we would give crude oil to refine abroad, sell at foreign exchange and pay to our account. We got quantum of barrels of crude oil and gave to these companies and after they might have refined it, let’s say they got one million litres and we needed only 200 litres, they would give us the quantity we wanted and sell the remaining and give us foreign exchange. We only took our fuel back, never imported fuel.

I personally signed the contract of the fourth refinery which we call new Port Harcourt Refinery in 1984. It was one of the best in Africa, with a capacity of 160,000 barrels per day. The first refinery, in Port Harcourt, was built in 1965; Warri refinery in 1978, and Kaduna refinery in 1980. A newly constructed refinery can’t have major problem for about 30 years. The problem they will not tell you is that after Buhari, every Minister and Head of State became an oil sheikh, except General Abdulsalami Abubakar--Tam David west

A company where only 10 people share Trillions, LLC, company, hahah

Nigeria is a country that is badly managed. The country does not have the infrastructure that can lift most of its citizens out of chronic poverty. There are a lot of problems that continue to keep Nigeria down and the current set of leaders we have are not tackling these problems thoroughly. I still find it hard to believe that things have not really gotten better under the Goodluck Jonathan government. There are individual achievers in Nigeria but 80% of the populace cannot afford the basic things that will enable them achieve a solid standard of living. The country is not organized and corruption is still rampant in the land. The Postal Service is in a comatose state and water is still not being piped into people's homes. When will our leaders wake up to the fact that a Revolution is in the offing in the near future if they don't buckle up and do the right thing? I'm pissed off.

@oti-igba, I agree with you. Now is the best time to sell it before it will become worthless like Greece. The arabs will be ready to pay any amount than chinese who may under-price this kompany, lol. Let's suggest how much it can be sold please.
Re: Please, Is Nigeria A Country Or A Company? by buJu234: 10:15am On Oct 31, 2011
its only in Nigeria that foreigners from Asia have more power than the citizens.

I mean the Indian, Lebanese & Chinese ; they have more power; more bank loans ; more government backing than
the average Nigerian masses,

Just see how they are using Nigerians as slave workers in their own country; yet Labour (NLC) & ministry of works just close their eyes.

even the one that said he walked without shoes b4 becoming president; doesnt even show concern,

boy;;; as 4 me its really hard to believe that there`s a future 4 my generation in the country called Nigeria.

I slightly disagree, Nigeria is (was) an asset (Chattel) of a Company.

Nigeria is a NLC (No Liabilities Corporation), where those who are "running" things will never have to worry about their "investments", and where profit is never reflected in the accounts of the primary shareholders/stakeholders.
