I don't rate Rufai personally. Basket to me. The older generation love him though. But some really terrible goals were conceded by him in Onana-esque ways. Ike too. Individual performance is still Enyeama. A Nigerian match is about to be played against a tough opponent but you will relax because Enyeama is going to even the odds. Then he organized his defense well and talked at them to align whenever they were misbehaving. It worked too. Confidence too. Ask Mweene of Zambia during that pk shootout.

After Enyeama, it should be Peter Rufai.
He was so good in his prime. But when he was called back from retirement, he wasn't half as good and that tainted his legacy a bit.

After Peter Rufai, it should be Emmanuel Okala.
He had a great rival in Segun Ogedengbe and that kept him on his toes.

The common feature among the three is that they were in goal when Nigeria won her three AFCON titles in 1980, 1994 and 2013.
So it is clear that we need a good goalkeeper to win another AFCON title.

None of the others achieved half of his feats. Rufai was a basket so don't even try that rubbish. Rufai benefitted from being part of Nigeria's most gifted set ever and every time the ball got to him, a goal was sure to be conceded. The 70/80s set were just nostalgia. If they were so good how come Nigeria didn't qualify for any World Cup in their time winning only ONE AFCON?

The kids here don't know how good Rufai was.

Rufai was on another level at the 1994 nations cup and World cup.

Enyeama on the other hand was capable of great saves but in the same games will make silly errors leading to the games being lost.

Rufai played for many European teams. Beceren, Lokeren, Go ahead Eagles, Deportivo etc. Enyeama only played in Israel and Lille.

Rufai was able to command his defence such that you don't have to shoot muck at him. He was superb at cutting out crosses too. Enyeama was good at stopping shots but overall, Rufai nicks it based on contribution to the national team

Rufai is ten times better than Vincent, and I stand by that. We qualified for the first world cup with an away draw at algeira with Peter rufai been Rock solid at the post. Our first world cup is the best world cup we ever had and Peter was a backbone of that team. Yes, at club level Vincent made some marks, so is rufai in Spain among other countries.

Peter Rufai was doing well because of quality of players in his era, compare to that of Enyeama where many of the players were just average. In record breaking, Enyeama is very far better than Rufai. Enyeama remains the Nigeria best keeper ever. He was voted for Africa's best keeper ever.

Sir with all due respect, Patrick Okala is the younger brother of the legendary Emmanuel Okala whose name was omitted. Also Best Ogedengbe is another legend whose name has been omitted. Besides Enyeama, the most successful Nigerian goalie in Europe Willy Agbonivbare was also omitted. Thank you. To answer the question, in my opinion, the .ost successful is Vincent Enyeama.
