Three persons have been arrested by youths of Inyilla Ibere Community, Ikwuano Local Government Council of Abia state, AbnTV reports.

They were arrested in connection with alleged stealing of seven batteries from an Airtel communications mast located in the community.

A source who spoke with ABN TV on Sunday said they received information about the activities of the vandals in the location.

The youths were said to have mobilized along with the community vigilante and apprehended the hoodlums said to be a 5-man gang.

While the youths apprehended two persons in the forest, another was apprehended by a neighboring village, while one person escaped.

The fifth person is said to be a certain engineer who services the communication facility.

Their full identities could not be ascertained but a source said the name of the fleeing suspect is Emeka, sharing the same name with one of those in custody.

Telecommunication companies keep losing billions to theft, and same idiots would be the first to complain about high tariffs!

Despite the tremendous efforts of the FG, miscreants like these will do anything to vandalize both public and private infrastructures benefiting them and their community!

They should help them by giving them a job they can rely on. That is if there are jobs available.
If there is no job, they should do to them whatever they want.

State police or not, every community should have an active vigilante. Thieves can't rob and go scot-free in a society where everyone knows everyone.
