You dont rate a country a superpower by winning wars, How many wars have being won by the United States, you need to dig into history. The United States was disgraced by Fidel Castro is the Bay of the Pigs Invasion which turned him into an international hero. The Kennedy administration denied involvement in order to save face but the world knew the story.
