Another avenue to keep looting funds. Why not privatize it. Successive governments have failed to make it work now for over 20+ years. Every year, billions are allocated to running cost of a steel plant that produces no steel. Are we normal in this country?

We behave like people whose brains didn't fully develop. In a sane society, people would be going to jail over Ajaokuta. Not in Nigeria.

I was thinking the same

Why not use that money and turn Ajaokuta into a world class industrial park with 24hrs power supply. The plant is a white elephant project.

I doubt Wale Edun knows what he is doing.

Let them take 15 billion from Wike. He has the money for vp lodge building. Then find the rest elsewhere. U are welcome.

every govt wants to revive this mill yet not has been able to revive it...or is this a project made to steal from the public purse.. heard there is no steel close to this mean why was it sighted in ajaokuta then..

35billion that was 4x lesser than what Delta State Aline collected as monthly allocation for August 2023.

35billion that Gbemisola Saraki or her brother can write as Manager’s Cheque and give to FG!

That's not the issue. The real reason was the Americans frustrated the Russians from that project by not funding it through the IMF and World Bank and threatened the Nigeria government. Six months later, Gen Buhari came to power

Wouldn't it be wise to lease it out to indigenous investors under a RepairOperateMaintain&Transfer PPP policy to enable its smooth transformation, operation and contribution to the development of the economy WITHOUT THE HEADACHE OF SUSTAINANCE and MAINTENANCE that will be occasioned via the FG ownership？
