Well, the State is simply benefitting from its proximity to Lagos State, and vast availability of undeveloped hectares of land. Unfortunately, it doesn't reflect on its infrastructure or the living standard of its people. Too many mismatches as Governor

Japanese companies treat their employees, foreigners or natives, as similar as westerners. However, the workers have to work, be punctual and honest. They would work o, but they will be treated well.

C'mon! I don't support the APC, but Otsuka is a major pharmaceutical company headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Any firm with its HQRTS in Chiyoda is a formidable and reputable one.

The state is BIG... VERY BIG. Their proximity to Lagos makes this a better option.

It is simple. The target market is in Lagos. Lagos has the port for imports but Ogun has large area of affordable land for industry thus, any new company will think of Ogun state as location. Local tax on companies there is also not as high as that of Lagos.
Other likely option is Kano but proximity to the port is another cost(transport, higher risks and insurance).
